Talk-show host Nancy Grace doesn't want her deposition in a central Florida wrongful death lawsuit videotaped. Her attorney wants a federal judge to prohibit videotaping of Grace during a deposition Thursday or prohibit the release of the deposition if it is videotaped.
Her attorneys say it's necessary to protect Grace from embarrassment.
She's a host of HLN, formerly CNN Headline News.
Grace is being sued by Melinda Duckett's family. They blame her for inflicting emotional distress on the 21-year-old Florida mother during an appearance on her talk show.
Duckett was on Grace's show in 2006 after her son Trenton disappeared. Grace grilled the woman, accusing her of hiding something. Duckett shot and killed herself the day the taped interview was scheduled to air.
Grace on 'Good Morning America' in 2007, Responding to News of Duckett's Suicide:
SOUNDS LIKE A BUNCH OF HATER'S ON HERE AND YOU MUST WATCH HER SHOW OR YOU WOULDN'T KNOW HER SO WELL. SO MUCH FOR THE WOMAN AND HER CHILD, IT HAPPEN'S EVERY DAY!
I'm by no means a Nancy Grace fan -- she's often uppity and rude to her guests and that's a turnoff. But I can't see how anybody can be directly responsible for another person's suicide. She could have contributed to Duckett's distress, but Duckett was the one who pulled the trigger. And who knows, the Duckett family might be trying to pull off a big payday by suing a celebrity. It happens more often than we'd like to think.
Sorry all you Nancy Grace detractors, but I'll say it again: Nancy Grace did not pull the trigger. We live in a society where all too often people don't want to take responsibility for their actions. We're living in the age of THE BIG EXCUSE. It's the old "My dog ate my paper" sort of BS! If you get into the ring and get your nose bloodied, suck it up. Duckett didn't have to consent to the interview, did she? You need to put your distaste for Grace aside and look at the facts
Nancy Grace deserves no more than anyone does. She can grill people and she wants things to be public. She is no better. I myself want to see her give her deposition.... Turn about is fair play dear Nancy!
When she was a prosecutor in Georgia she was censured by the state supreme court twice. Once for hiding evidence from the defense and once for denying a defendant due process.
I refuse to watch this woman. For the simple fact that I love my 42 inch tv and If I watch her show I will hurl that thing out the window.Sorry Nancy(not really)its your turn in the hot seat now.
Grace had no qualms about televising her slanderous accusations regarding the mother. Turnabout is fair play - she had plenty to say before and didn't have one moments hesitation in televising them - so she has no business hiding now.
Nancy's cute as all get out with the Georgia accent, but like with the twenty four hour news cycle, she continues to beat the dead horse... turning the show into pure boredom.
I don't know whether the woman killed her child or not; but Nancy Grace made certain that we probably never will know. She hammered this fragile woman, and now SHE doesn't want to be embarrassed!!! I would love to see her hammered just a she did the woman. If she can't stand the heat, she should never have entered the kitchen.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

Good job Nancy. You helped get rid of a babykiller. We love you and good luck. Anyone who believes Melinda is innocent is stupid.
