Nancy Grace Wants Wrongful Death Lawsuit to Be Off Camera

Talk-show host Nancy Grace doesn't want her deposition in a central Florida wrongful death lawsuit videotaped. Her attorney wants a federal judge to prohibit videotaping of Grace during a deposition Thursday or prohibit the release of the deposition if it is videotaped.

Her attorneys say it's necessary to protect Grace from embarrassment.

She's a host of HLN, formerly CNN Headline News.

Grace is being sued by Melinda Duckett's family. They blame her for inflicting emotional distress on the 21-year-old Florida mother during an appearance on her talk show.

Duckett was on Grace's show in 2006 after her son Trenton disappeared. Grace grilled the woman, accusing her of hiding something. Duckett shot and killed herself the day the taped interview was scheduled to air.

away with it! Who is she to ask a mother a question about killing
their own child? It's their business if they want to murder their

Anyone remember Jenny Jones? What happened after her show was out of her control but she ended up in court and her show was never seen again. As for Nancy, she keeps public awareness of missing people, many are children. Was the boy ever found? No. Clearly the mother was guilty and if her guilt was that deep she was going to kill herself anyway. Who here didn't watch NG during the search for Caylee Anthony? As much as you don't like her i bet many watched. Having said that, NG has shown the depositions of George and Cindy Anthony many times, therefore i believe hers should also be taped. Whether it should be shown publically though remains to be seen. Also, guests on her show are usually paid, in particular the lawyers. They all know what they are getting in to. This woman who killed herself could have ended the interview at any time, or for that matter refused to do it in the first place. Anyone who has seen her show knows exactly what happens and that it won't be easy, they know they will be asked tough questions and if they are not guilty they have nothing to worry about. NG does more good than harm, she speaks for those who are missing and i am sure the victims families are appreciative. You don't have to like her style but i for one support her cause which is to find missing children. If not for people like her they might be forgotten but keeping up the awareness ensures there are still attempts to find them or at the least get to the truth about what has happened to them. If it helps solve one case it is worth it. IMO

nancy does bring attention to missing kids, even if she stresses the use of 'amber alerts'. Giving parents a venue to speak of their missing child is important. Looking past her negative qualities her positive ones far outweighs them.

I have always hated Nancy Grace's nasty attitude toward people, treating them as if they are already proven guilty. I feel sorry for her twins, when they get half-grown and she thinks they may have done something wrong she will turn on them too. The whole point with Melinda Duckett is that you are not supposed to be evil to people who are already weak and upset, regardless of whether you think they are guilty...Grace could not possible KNOW Melinda was guilty. It's like cops who are allowed to taser people who die and they don't care because the person was probably on drugs... hateful attitude.

Nancy Grace is a DISgrace. My GAWD ... she will fight to the death on this and always refuses to state that she is wrong. And she is wrong so much of the time. I love her tone of voice. You see, guilty people are the loudest and angriest of people when trying to deny something they are responsible for. She is literally yelling at this newsman trying to overtalk his every question. She doubletalked all the way thru the interview and never answered one question. She talked all the way around the subject, never answering. She needs to get off the air waves. What a DISgrace.

The only reason that the mother killed herself is she didn't want to go to prison. Why would she throw the things away that the little boy needed? She didn't want the dad to have him and if he had of been adopted out or given to someone he would have been seen by now with all of the things on TV about him.

Nancy Grace is a great woman who brings justice for the victim and if people can't take it then turn her show off. I for one hopes that she is around for a long time. We need more people like her rather than the slap on the hands judges we have in the system today.

Rape a child, kill a child and you get less time than if you have drugs. Look at the mother in jail in Florida who killed her beautiful daughter and then the father and his who-- girl frined/ wife/ex wife who just got busted for selling drugs and they still have not found his 5 year old daughter

Why does this person still have a show? She is very wrong for doing this, she should have faced charges for the death of this woman, there is no excuse for her behavior. She is very nasty and has no idea how to speak to people. I hope she has nightmares for the rest of her unnatural life - maybe she is from a another planet. Seriously, She doesn't want to be embarrassed? She believes she should be exempt when she has petitioned the courts for access to in-court media coverage and then harasses people, literally to death, on her show? Really Nancy, what's the deal? This is your moment to shine...show everyone who you really are. I'm thinking it's because you are a worthless shrew and journalistic hack...perhaps that is why you don't want to be put on tape under oath and forced to tell the truth for all the world to see.

I hope they nail her fat butt to the wall. Not only is she a blood sucking Attorney, she is a smart butt know it all and needs to be brought up on charges ( if not Civil only) for her attitude and demeanor.

Grace is a disgrace. I call her nancy grace less. Its funny how she shows hours of casey anthonys moms deposition and makes money off showing depositions but she doesn't want hers on tv. I think one of the many appaling things this situation shows is that nancy grace and people like her can never admit they were wrong. They never apologize and in this case grace less acts like she played no part in a womans suicide. Right now she plays hours of misty croslins jail house tapes and attacks her and I think misty is innocent. Nancy went after the duke lacrosse players for months and they were innocent. Her show sucks she plays the same clips a thousand times her callers all say how they love her and shes their hero. What a joke!!
