John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are lending a hand to the earthquake victims in Haiti, as the actor flew his own jet into the ravaged country equipped with relief supplies, doctors and a handful of Scientology ministers aimed at helping. According to the Associated Press, Travolta and wife Kelly Preston flew from 4 tons of military food rations and medical supplies from Florida to Haiti and are leaving shortly ... but the doctors and Scientology ministers are staying."I want to thank Qantas Airlines and (its chief executive) Alan Joyce. Alan is allowing me to fly the Boeing 707 that's sitting in the backyard, fill it with supplies, fill it with doctors, fill it with volunteer ministers, and take it down to Haiti on Monday - so thank you, thank you, thank you," Travolta said about his trip.
This is Travolta's second relief effort to Haiti, having flown in supplies last week as well. On January 18, Travolta told the press: "I have arranged for a plane to take down some volunteer ministers and some supplies and some medics. I hope that inspires others as well. It's needed."
While the Travolta's relief efforts are surely appreciated, it's the presence of the Scientology ministers that has irked some, as the Church of Scientology has been accused of capitalizing on tragedies in the past.
Gawker.com, who have a long history of criticizing Scientology and its celebrity followers, summarizes that "anywhere people are suffering, Scientology's yellow-shirted 'volunteer ministers' can be found lurking near news cameras and claiming to help people with their bull---- technology. They performed 'purification rundowns' on recovery workers sifting through the ruins of the World Trade Center after 9/11, administered 'touch assists' to victims of the tsunami, distributed literature after the Virginia Tech shooting, and are on the ground in Haiti right now warning the starving, dehydrated populace about the dangers of psychiatry."

Church of Scientology
So evidently he didn't learn his lesson about this cult fraud.

John Travolta's son died because that moronic b.s religion. His son needed medical help not Scientology. Now he brings those b.s doctors to Haiti?
I'm surprised John would bother with bringing scientology ministers to Haiti. I thought that religion targeted mostly people of wealth, which if so, they aren't going to find in that country.
I was curious about Scientology a year ago so I contacted them to find out what it was about. I've been asking them for 9 months to remove me from mailings, phone calls, and emails and they just won't stop. Is there anyone I can contact to get them to leave me alone?

that is how they are obnoxious and persistant. That is what they preach. That scientology is right and the rest of the world is a step below.
No. You will soon be one of them.
We share a similar experience. When I was 17 (1972) returning from a walk about Europe, I was flagged down by a stunningly beautiful woman on 32nd St., NYC, and of course that was the hook. I made the mistake of giving my name and address. For over 20 years I not only received promos, but bills for all of the self-help courses I'd supposedly signed up to take. The mail (maelstrom) followed me from NYC to upstate to Missouri to Boston. And despite Scientology's massive presence in Boston, after 20 years of not a single response, the mail stopped. My advice, as a victim, as someone who has actually taken John Travolta's deposition (by written questions only), is never respond, simply discard the mail (safely) without opening it. Good luck
Do what they do,have your lawyer send them a letter telling them to stop pestering you. Good luck, R
I too was curious about it a few years back, so I visited their website to try to get a feel of what it was that they actually BELIEVED... I spent a good hour reading through their "doctrines," and ya know, I STILL don't know what they believe. I have a feeling most of the "followers" are just as confused as I am...
hey JT. stay home you freak!

I think it's great that john travolta and his wife are helping haiti. If they are promoting positive changes why are we questioning it. I am not a scientologist, and if I was in trouble I would accept their help. Do you really believe that travolta or tom cruise promote hate and killing? It's the same as christians bring their fathers to help a nation in need and counsel them or the rabbis who might go to haiti to council them?

It's definitely not the same! Going in to "help" is fine, but when Scientologists bring their kind of help, it only exacerbates the situation. Not sure what you mean by fathers when you say Christian, but I know all kinds of Christians (men, women, and youth) who give aid to people in need. And if they do spread the gospel to people, at least they are hearing the truth, not some made up space alien garbage!
Where does Travolta park his ''Space Ship'' when he's flying his plane? Woooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Scientology is no worse than Christianity or any other religion. Personally I do not believe in any of them, but to each his own. They all swarm in trying to convert new followers anytime they see the chance.

Haven't seen it yet, but Bill Maher has a film out called "Religulous". The preview was rather good.
As for Travolta helping out, good for him.
He could've brought more supplies had he left "a handful of scientology ministers" behind.
I agree, but scientologists are nasty full of themself people(robots)
Israel didn't send any Rabbies to try to convert people... They only sent people to help rescue people from the rubble. Like Mary said.... Once you allow these bastard Scientologists to get a foothold, they never let go........

Why isn't anyone taking what Haiti needs most?.......birth control

Your right, this country has been exporting uneducated and diseased people to our shores for years. they will be given our social security and other moneies that people have put into the government for older age.
We will now bring in another 150,000 and the billions going there will make a couple of the bosses richer while 10 years from now we will hear that nothing has changed and its the US's fault. KEEP THEM THERE TO DO THEIR OWN COUNTRY.
Beacaue a cult even bigger than scientology has convinced the vast majority of Haitians that using birth control condemns you to eternal damnation. The cult I'm referring to is catholicism.
