John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are lending a hand to the earthquake victims in Haiti, as the actor flew his own jet into the ravaged country equipped with relief supplies, doctors and a handful of Scientology ministers aimed at helping. According to the Associated Press, Travolta and wife Kelly Preston flew from 4 tons of military food rations and medical supplies from Florida to Haiti and are leaving shortly ... but the doctors and Scientology ministers are staying."I want to thank Qantas Airlines and (its chief executive) Alan Joyce. Alan is allowing me to fly the Boeing 707 that's sitting in the backyard, fill it with supplies, fill it with doctors, fill it with volunteer ministers, and take it down to Haiti on Monday - so thank you, thank you, thank you," Travolta said about his trip.
This is Travolta's second relief effort to Haiti, having flown in supplies last week as well. On January 18, Travolta told the press: "I have arranged for a plane to take down some volunteer ministers and some supplies and some medics. I hope that inspires others as well. It's needed."
While the Travolta's relief efforts are surely appreciated, it's the presence of the Scientology ministers that has irked some, as the Church of Scientology has been accused of capitalizing on tragedies in the past.
Gawker.com, who have a long history of criticizing Scientology and its celebrity followers, summarizes that "anywhere people are suffering, Scientology's yellow-shirted 'volunteer ministers' can be found lurking near news cameras and claiming to help people with their bull---- technology. They performed 'purification rundowns' on recovery workers sifting through the ruins of the World Trade Center after 9/11, administered 'touch assists' to victims of the tsunami, distributed literature after the Virginia Tech shooting, and are on the ground in Haiti right now warning the starving, dehydrated populace about the dangers of psychiatry."

this is what they need !!!!! Especially now!!!!!
You just said the ''UNSPEAKABLE'' word! 'Birth control' is not only needed in Haiti... it's needed WORLD WIDE! Before we totally destroy the Planet we're living on. This Planet was never meant to hold 6.7 Billion people. STARVATION is the PLANET'S way of dealing with OVER-POPULATION!I'm glad I'm 65 & I won't have to be around for the TERRORS of TEN BILLION HUMANS... by the year 2050, DEVOURING the LIMITED RESOURCES. TERRIBLE WARS can be the only result... and, the ultimate cure for OVER-POPULATION. But first we must get rid of the obstacles......... Like the Christian church, Hinduism, Islamism, and all the others who quash women's rights to control their own bodies and regulate the amount of children that they're FORCED to bare.
I kid you not, I was 23 when I (at the urging of a friend) talked to these people at Scientology. Now, 40 years later, I still receive 5-8 pieces of mail each week. I have moved 5 times, and lived in 4 states, it doesn't matter they find me. The first 10 years they had me scared to death. I felt I was being stalked. Now I have resigned myself. I would however, still, like to find a way to remove myself from these mailings. Has anyone been successful at getting off their list?

You are so right
John and his wife are some good people. Its one thing to help the people of Haiti, but to fly there with his jet loaded with help is wonderful. I wish more people in holly wood that are rich, and famous would take notes from John and Kelly. We wont hear about any other ones doing this. Unless theres something in it for their selves. Most dont approve of their religion, I for one do not, but they are giving back something so needed in Haiti. I wish this couple all the very best in life, they deserve it.

Grant, Looks like you're a little spelling and grammar challenged yourself.

No they worship Hubbard and money. I think it's wonderful Travolta is helping, but he always brings his so called religion into it.

Religion is and has been the root of most of the conflicts in the world. It's the "my religion is better than yours attitude".

Great, just what the Haitians need right now, Scientology! Maybe Travolta can convince them that they really are not starving, just like he and his wife always pretended their son was not Autistic. What a joke!

Good for Travolta. If I needed a doctor, medical help, food or someone to help me through a catastrophe, the last thing I would be interested in was the religion, country or politics of the people providing it. Many good-hearted people are trying to help out in Haiti, while others who won't help, bad-mouth them in Internet postings.

wow John I loved ya man but you have went off deep end now...... Was not same BS done to you when your child died?? WTH are you thinking man!?.. Help those people yes but to catch someone down and use it to push your religion or prosper in any way as they did on your tragedy is sick!!!! Wow man ! I know the loss you have suffered has your mind in torment but man you dont turn around and harm innocent people in tragedy ...How did you like it when news reporters etc pushed their religion on you when your son died? wake up man...

Out of all the doctors, volunteers, soldiers and other care givers who have opened their hearts and given their time to Haiti's victims, Travolta injects his very questionable cult and uses this disaster to spread "warnings about psychiatry." What if somebody else with a grudge started spreading warnings about opthomalogy, oncology, gynecology, or any other medical discipline? Let him contribute his humanitarian aid supplies, but this is no time or place for cult recruiting. John, you're a nice guy and I love you, but please SHUT UP.

I simple can not understand you people you'll must be very unhappy people to want to see everyone else in the world to suffer because you are miserable. GOD BLESS YOU JOHN AND KELLY AND THANKS FOR YOUR LOVE. GOD IS LOVE!!!

How can you say anything good about God if you believe in this garbage?! Your, I can't and won't even call it a religion, won't allow women to make a sound while giving birth, which is a natural thing to do; taking your child to the doctor and helping them when they obviously need help!!! These poor poor people need God, if they don't already have God in their hearts.
Out of all the doctors, rescuers, soldiers and others who have volunteered to help the Haitians, John Travolta wants to distribute warnings to victims against psychiatry, a dogma of his very questionable cult. What if other people with grudges against doctors started using disasters to "warn" victims against opthamology, gynecology, oncology, pediatrics, or any other medical discipline? Now is NOT the time for cult recruiting. John, you're a nice guy and I love you, but SHUT UP!

America doesn't do what you are suggesting even when there isn't a natural disaster somewhere in the world. By the way, for America to successfully rebuild a country we have to blow it up first (Iraq).

Great, the last thing these people need is a twisted cult looming over them. Voodoo is bad enough, now they've got a different type of screwy thinking to try to deal with.

Amen! I thought for an instant that John was really having second thoughts about this "religion" and it really disappoints me that he and his wife are trying to "spread" it around to the Haitian people who have already lost so much, they don't need to loose their religion to this garbage. They need food, clean water, clean places to live or survive I should save and a King James Bible.
