Awkward! Chris Matthews 'Forgot' Obama Was Black

Chris Matthews was in forgetful mood last night following the State of the Union, with the MSNBC host giving TV viewers one of the oddest ruminations on President Barack Obama's speech: "I forgot he was black tonight for an hour."

While trying to express his deep feeling on "who he was tonight," referring to Obama, Matthews launched into some cringeworthy material.

"He is post-racial, by all appearances. I forgot he was black tonight for an hour," he said. "I was watching. I said, wait a minute, he's an African-American guy in front of a bunch of other white people. And here he is president of the United States and we've completely forgotten that tonight -- completely forgotten it."

"Maybe I shouldn't talk about it, but I am" he added. "I thought it was profound that way, and I think in terms of the seduction tonight, I don't think he did anything tonight out of love of Republicans."

The gaffe, during a live segment, was not prompted by his co-hosts Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann. Matthews famously said he "felt this thrill going up my leg" during a 2008 speech by Obama, but lately he's been critical. In November he questioned Obama as "too darn intellectual, too much the egghead" and also went negative on the prez for vacationing in Martha's Vineyard.

Chris Matthews is a jerk, a liar, a left wing nut job that should be fired. There is no bigger fraud than Chris Matthews on the air waves. His ratings are so low less than 1 in 500,000 people have ever tuned into his show. You know he is going to lie before he opens his mouth...BIG MOUTH....

Chris Matthews is an extremely smart man about Politics He worked for Tip O'Neil many many years ago. Any one can trust him to tell it like it is. I guess you characters thought Bush was great. Did you forget he took us into a WAR for his own interests. Or weren't you born then.

Chris Matthews talks TOO much! On his show, he asks 4 questions to a guest and when they begin to answer, he either answers for them or asks 3 more questions. He is Chatty Kathy and needs to shut the F up and not bombard EVERYONE with his endless speculations, flowery opinions as much as he does. "I forgot he was black." What a fg moron!

Olbermann has got to be so embarrassed by Matthews endless big mouth. Olbermann is poised and sometimes Matthews tries to out talk him and by doing so pulls a Biden and sticks his foot in his mouth.

HE HAS A GOOD VISION FOR OUR COUNTRY...BETTER EDUCATION, WOW DO WE NEED IT; A BETTER HEALTHCARE SYSTEM DESPITE THE BAD AND UNTRUE TALK OF DEATH PANELS. THESE ARE FACTS NOT A PIE IN THE SKY SPEEECH. THE COST OF SENDING A CHILD TO SCHOOL IS WAY TOO HIGH AND SO IS THE MEDICAL NEED IN THIS COUNTRY. WE NEED CONGRESS, ESPECIALLY THE REPUBLICANS TO GET OFF THEIR BUTT AND DO SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR THE COUNTRY.

If you have to say to a some one, "Oh, for a minute there I forgot you were black." It is equal to "You're really smart for a Black person." I like the snide "You're exactly like I thought for a White person." Or the big, "You're eyes are not so chinky for an Asian." X-D
