Anne Hathaway Feels the Love at Hasty Pudding: 'My Rump Is Swollen With Pride'

Anne Hathaway has received a good-natured ribbing from Harvard's Hasty Pudding Theatricals student drama troupe. The group's Woman of the Year was honored Thursday with a parade inf frigid temps down Massachusetts Avenue near the university followed by a roast where she received her pudding pot from Harvard men in drag.

"My rump is swollen with pride," Hathaway said in her speech, according to Harvard's student newspaper, The Crimson.

Hasty Pudding president Clifford N. Murray called the 'Princess Diaries' actress "the second most famous Anne in the history of keeping a diary," a reference to Anne Frank.

She joins a distinguished list of past recipients that includes Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep.

After the parade, Hathaway was roasted on stage in typical Hasty Pudding Theatricals fashion where then she slew a "dragon." Freezing temperatures on the Cambridge, MA campus didn't dampen Hathaway's spirits during the event.

"Personally with my skin tone, I probably would have gotten a sunburn, so the weather was perfect for me."

Hasty Pudding Man of the Year Justin Timberlake is to be honored Feb. 5.

Who writes these things? "Where then she..." Did you mean, "where she then..."? You tell us she slew a "dragon". Excuse me. What is a "dragon"? A puppet? A pinata? A monitor lizard? A baby piglet dressed up like a dragon? For God's sake! Either write an article or don't!
