Whispers of Will Smith for President Surface Again

We spied Will Smith as a surging hot topic on search engines this AM. Wondering why? It's not like he has a movie opening this weekend. Actually, it's tied to politics.

There's new buzz of Will Smith's desire to be president of the United States thanks to wife Jada Pinkett Smith's recent interview with the German magazine Bunte. "Will is thinking about going into politics," she told the magazine. "He once said he could imagine becoming a US president. He wasn't joking, he was quite serious about it."

Pinkett Smith adds that she has no burning desire to be the First Lady. "It's just not for me. Will and I want to leave our mark on the world, and we think it more important than just traces of films."

Smith's desire to move into the White House is nothing new. The superstar first discussed his political aspirations in an interview with the Mail back in 2007.

"I always wanted to be the first black president but Barack Obama stole my idea," said Smith as Obama was running for office. "That's OK with me. Barack can go first and then I'll take my turn."

No he shouldn't have to go to college because maybe we should be thinking of people who have human contact and experience for a degree. Everybody has such faith in the colleges which have shown us over and over again that going to college creates a burning desire for the senators and representatives to take care of the American People instead of each other and their rich friends concerns. I wish he would run under an independent ticket and the voting people to erase both republicans and democrats in an effort to find 'we the people' again.

I kind of have a hard time beliving this story.Will Smith for president???.he a good actor and all that,but until i see him on tv actually saying that he will run for president, i am going to consider this a rumor.i do however think that if it is true that it would be a very interesting thing

It's not a rumor! Never was a rumor. It's true and I seen the interview 2 years ago when he said it.

Why not will Smith? He's jsut as qualified as the clown that is in there now, maybe more so. He has at least done something in the private sector wheras the jerk that's in the office now never did a damned thing that did not involve suing people and abusing tax payers.

Keith you got to be kidding man!you're the biggest clown that ever posted on here. OBAMA is more intellectually inclined than 85% of all the Presidens that ever took office. Bush the last president has been called the most STUPIDEST president in the history of the presidency by his own counterparts! The two BUSHS' who let the economy get driven into a ditch with the biggest mortgage meltdown in history contributed to the deficit that OBAMA inherited and now you jackasses on here want miracles. Give me a break. Having military experience does not guarantee that a president is going to perform well and turn this country around; take a look at the track records of those who held office and jacked up the country before they left. I don't think Will Smith should run either but trying to bash Obama only after 1 year in office without being intelligent enough to analyze what was placed in his lap from the previous administration's foul ups, is TOTALLY IGNORANT! OBAMA is the PRESIDENT, not a freakin miracle worker!!

Will Smith will never be president because he believes and is very vocal about 911 being an inside job. Anyone who thinks that is obviously not working on all 8 cylinders.

Another person not working on all 8 cylinders(must be an oil man like Bush). If you do not believe that there was something gone terribly wrong during 9/11 then you are not asking the right questions. Maybe if we get a few more honest people in Washington maybe we will start to get things done. But then maybe the Republican Machine will derail when the American people find that it has none of their true concerns at heart.

if america put will smith in as president, our whole country would be a disaster, we need a president that has been through at least 10 years of military service, a man who has had at least ten years on the senate. that is what is wrong with obama he has no experience at all, sad but true. america had better wake up we are headed in the wrong direction. h-ll if we dont change our ways

As great as Military training may be, that is a small part of the overall job. You sound like a supporter of former president Bush, did you wish the same requirement for him? 10 years in Senate? You probably believe Reagen did a great job, was his work as govenor of CA not enough. There can be no blueprint for the presidency, each President will enter office with problems unlike the one before. The world changes fast.

well, we have college grads running this country right now and look how well that has been working for us which just goes to show that that piece of paper called a degree really doesn't mean that the one posessing that degree is really intelligent enough to run and improve an entire country.

Obama is doing as well as he could for a man who has to clean up after the dumbest President (BUSH) and his cronies. If you feel Bush did a better job, and expects a MIRACLE after 1 year, then you are one stupid person. The man has a lot of cleaning up to do but no matter what he tries to do, you ignorant Republicans have something bad to say. Bush during his four yeas as President looked like a deer in a headlight. I'm glad he is out, and sadly, he is probably laughing his head off knowing how much dirt this new President has to sweep up.

I guess he will promote his younger son as a vice president, because he believes everything should stay in the family. Since he started to promote his son to an actor, I say, why does'nt he let other children play the parts. His son will someday be rich enough anyway.
