There's no shortage of great tidbits coming in straight from Grammy Awards weekend. It sounds like we'll have some surprise collaborators on a remake of a classic, all in the name of a great cause. Britney cut it THIS close to missing the show. Would she have enough time to get glam? And there is one star who can even outshine the lovely Lady Gaga on the red carpet. Find out what you didn't see on TV after the jump. Michael Jackson's Kids Will Record 'We Are the World'
Following their appearance at the Grammy Awards, sources tell me Michael Jackson's two oldest children -- Prince Michael and Paris -- want to be included in Monday's re-recording of 'We Are The World,' the proceeds of which will benefit Haiti. "Prince Michael and Paris know that helping others was as important to their daddy as music. That is why they really want to be part of the re-recording of this extraordinary song," a friend of Michael's tells me.
It's still unclear if their voices will be blended in with the chorus of celebrities or if they will make get to sing a solo line or two I, for one, can't think of any singer alive that would be more powerful than Prince Michael or little Paris singing the lyrics their daddy wrote 25 years ago.
Prince Jackson took to the stage Sunday night at the Grammys and spoke in public for the first time, stunning the audience with an emotional speech about his late father. In accepting Michael's posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award, the reclusive 12 year-old choked up while thanking fans for their support since his dad's death. "Our father loved you so much because you were always there for him," he said in a soft-spoken voice. He also touted the goodness of his beloved dad: "Through all his songs, his message was simple: Love."
The brief speech quickly became the most sincere and poignant moment of the evening, with every member of the audience standing and listening in awe as the shy Prince spoke.
Paris also spoke but very briefly, saying, "We love you daddy." She of course made a touching speech at Michael's memorial service, which was held under the very same roof as the Grammys, Staples Center.
Read the whole speech below:
Prince: First of all, we'd like to thank God for watching over us over these past seven months, and our grandma and grandpa for their love and support. We would also like to thank the fans. Our father loved you so much because you were always there for him. Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity. Through all his hard work and dedication, he has helped many charities and donated to all of them. Through all his songs, his message was simple: Love. We will continue to spread his message and help the world. Thank you. We love you daddy.
Paris: Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was going to perform this year, but he couldn't perform last year. Thank you, we love you daddy.
Britney Rushes To Get Ready for the Grammys
A friend of mine saw a barely-recognizable Britney Spears hopping onto a flight from Miami to L.A. Sunday morning to rush back to Cali for the Grammys. "She was with an entourage of eight who were so nervous about not having enough time to get her red carpet ready. Her flight was landing at 10:45 AM, six hours and fifteen minutes before the Grammy's were set to start," gasped a nervous stylist.
Seems like plenty of time to me! "That's no time at all. It takes hours to get Britney looking like Britney. Her hair alone can take six hours," snapped a friend. Which explains why the second she landed she was whisked away by a team of glamour experts. Don't worry she made it, arriving at 7:48 with 12 minutes to spare!
The Red Carpet's Biggest Star? It's the Situation!
Forget Lady Gaga, Beyonce or even Britney. I can "officially" report that the hottest red carpet sensation was "The Situation" of 'Jersey Shore' fame. "Stars were lined up three deep to get their picture with the man with the tan before the show began," laughed one A-list source. Which was probably a good idea to rush to get that pic. After the show he's catching the red eye back to appear on the fabulous 'Today Show' along with me!

it was really wonderful to see mj's kids accept for him. they are a testament to what kind of father he was.god bless them all.

Are you kidding, their father was a freak. The only thing that will save them is that they probably do not have his DNA.
I was really happy to see them except the award also. I am glad it wasn't Jermaine, he seems fake to me.
Leo Dial!
What do you mean "probably" not their father!! They even LOOK like one of Michael's side-kicks! (the name escapes me at the moment). I'm so revolted by the people with selective memories!! He was talented, no doubt. But he was a talented PEDOPHILE!!!
Yes, wasn't that special?
@Juli
I agree with you. Jermaine is an attention whore and I am soooo glad he was NOT invited. It's only fitting that the kids accept for their father. I don't care what anyone says, Jermaine was jealous of MJ's fame. He felt that HE should have been the big star in the family. Maybe if he wasn't so busy trying to hang on to his little brother's coattails for publicity, he would have been bigger than what he was.
ALL YOU PASTY FACE WHITIES HAT MJ ONLY BECAUSE HE'S BLACK, YOU NASTYWHITIE RASCIST ARE ALL GOING TO HELL, AND YOU DON'T LIKE IT'S THE AFRICAN AMERICANS TIME TO RUN THIS COUNTRY, HOPFUL SOON WHITIES WILL BE OUR SLAVES ... LOL
If he was such a good father, where is he now? A good father would be here for his so called kids. Instead he was messing with dope had an oops moment and checked out early. That kind of blows that good father theory right out of the water doesn't it?
I agree with you Danielle. I was very touched by his children being the ones to accept his award instead of another family member. I hope they get solos in the song. I have no doubt that they inherited Michael's incredible talent and I'd love for them to be able to share it with us all.
once again we have ignorant michael bashers gracing our presence - go away...........
yeah, i tried to watch the grabbies but i got sick and tired of hearing about haiti so i flipped to the weather channel and watched snow fall for three hours and must admit i found it far more entertaining...
Reply
hmm you say you were "sick and tired of hearing about Haiti"?
well i'm sure that they're "sick and tired" of being homeless, of finding dead loved ones, and walking around with ghastly injuries.
i hope you found something "entertaining". selfish prick.
You're sick huh? I only hope I find you under a rock someday.
hey monkey brain im glad you enjoyed the weather channel. thats
typical, cause thats probably all you understand.
you are a very selfish person.
how right you are, haiti is being beaten into the publics head, for some reason way to many people have a black guilt thing going and feel that someway we need to help these worthless pieces of human garbage, and heck even if 250k were killed the way they breed with no control the population will be replinished with more useless haitians in a short time
you should be embarrassed to write such a cold statement, we don't need to know what you did when have a heart you as..... was sick of listen about Haiti...maybe you don't have any body to love and to relate to the one's that lost no just their love ones but everything they ever had....have a heart you as....e.
You think you were sick and tired of hearing about Haiti?
I think what make you sick is your own heartless and selfish
mind!!! You are a very SICK dog
Wow, this is inhumane. Do you have a heart? Have you ever taken a moment to think about others? Have ever read this poem: No man is an island, no man stands alone. Read it. It is a good one.
I guess if you had lost everthing to Hurricane Rita (2005) I have a hard time "flipping" through the channels. It reminds me of a hope that we clinged onto. Yes, we have re-built but it took everything we had including the Grace of God. Take a moment a see how different people are trying to help out...you just might find out that there is something you can do to make a difference. Remember, everything counts.
