There's no shortage of great tidbits coming in straight from Grammy Awards weekend. It sounds like we'll have some surprise collaborators on a remake of a classic, all in the name of a great cause. Britney cut it THIS close to missing the show. Would she have enough time to get glam? And there is one star who can even outshine the lovely Lady Gaga on the red carpet. Find out what you didn't see on TV after the jump. Michael Jackson's Kids Will Record 'We Are the World'
Following their appearance at the Grammy Awards, sources tell me Michael Jackson's two oldest children -- Prince Michael and Paris -- want to be included in Monday's re-recording of 'We Are The World,' the proceeds of which will benefit Haiti. "Prince Michael and Paris know that helping others was as important to their daddy as music. That is why they really want to be part of the re-recording of this extraordinary song," a friend of Michael's tells me.
It's still unclear if their voices will be blended in with the chorus of celebrities or if they will make get to sing a solo line or two I, for one, can't think of any singer alive that would be more powerful than Prince Michael or little Paris singing the lyrics their daddy wrote 25 years ago.
Prince Jackson took to the stage Sunday night at the Grammys and spoke in public for the first time, stunning the audience with an emotional speech about his late father. In accepting Michael's posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award, the reclusive 12 year-old choked up while thanking fans for their support since his dad's death. "Our father loved you so much because you were always there for him," he said in a soft-spoken voice. He also touted the goodness of his beloved dad: "Through all his songs, his message was simple: Love."
The brief speech quickly became the most sincere and poignant moment of the evening, with every member of the audience standing and listening in awe as the shy Prince spoke.
Paris also spoke but very briefly, saying, "We love you daddy." She of course made a touching speech at Michael's memorial service, which was held under the very same roof as the Grammys, Staples Center.
Read the whole speech below:
Prince: First of all, we'd like to thank God for watching over us over these past seven months, and our grandma and grandpa for their love and support. We would also like to thank the fans. Our father loved you so much because you were always there for him. Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity. Through all his hard work and dedication, he has helped many charities and donated to all of them. Through all his songs, his message was simple: Love. We will continue to spread his message and help the world. Thank you. We love you daddy.
Paris: Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was going to perform this year, but he couldn't perform last year. Thank you, we love you daddy.
Britney Rushes To Get Ready for the Grammys
A friend of mine saw a barely-recognizable Britney Spears hopping onto a flight from Miami to L.A. Sunday morning to rush back to Cali for the Grammys. "She was with an entourage of eight who were so nervous about not having enough time to get her red carpet ready. Her flight was landing at 10:45 AM, six hours and fifteen minutes before the Grammy's were set to start," gasped a nervous stylist.
Seems like plenty of time to me! "That's no time at all. It takes hours to get Britney looking like Britney. Her hair alone can take six hours," snapped a friend. Which explains why the second she landed she was whisked away by a team of glamour experts. Don't worry she made it, arriving at 7:48 with 12 minutes to spare!
The Red Carpet's Biggest Star? It's the Situation!
Forget Lady Gaga, Beyonce or even Britney. I can "officially" report that the hottest red carpet sensation was "The Situation" of 'Jersey Shore' fame. "Stars were lined up three deep to get their picture with the man with the tan before the show began," laughed one A-list source. Which was probably a good idea to rush to get that pic. After the show he's catching the red eye back to appear on the fabulous 'Today Show' along with me!

These awards shows are getting to be way too much.... They have turned into a night of self serving accolades for people that most of America has never seen and in some cases never heard of...
When will Hollywood realize most of America doesnt any longer care what they do.

Just watch grandpa Jackson exploit Michael's kids.

I'm happy they got the chance to accept Michael's award. Michael did a GREAT job raising them and it's nice seeing kids understand that giving back to the needy and healing the world is a good thing. I'd rather see kids do that than act like a bunch of spoiled brats that's out there in Hollywood. They even seem mature for there age, and act more mature than a lot of adults these days too. I'm happy that they're gonna help keep Michael's legacy of love and peace alive. To all the haters, stop hating so much and go out and help somebody for once.

What would happen if a singer arrived at the award ceremony wearing a suit and tie? Would this affect his singing?

To all of you that think those are MJ's kids get a life, He bought and payed for them, Black market kids are what they are

WOW Paris really looks like Debbie... except better looking. Neither look anything like MJ. So who is the really Daddy? They did very well... It's obvious they are not show biz type kids and hopefully Joe Sr. will allow them to just be kids.
Reply
who cares. he raised them, and he was their FATHER. it's not our place to speculate.

I felt the children of MJ were being exploited.
Reply
does it really matter ? he was their FATHER. the one who tucked them in at night and the one who put food on the table. and who LOVED them. so leave it alone.

Great tribute to Michael, one of the best! God Bless his children. Only part I found distrubing were thier older cousins joining them on stage, are they promoting a new group? And why so many shots of Joe Jackson, he was the last person Michael would want near his kids or using them to promote himself.

Oh for cryin' out loud; when does this admiration of Michael Jackson end? These weren't his biological children and this crap needs to stop. Glad they loved him and he loved them (probably in ways he shouldn't have) but let's face facts, these kids are WHITE. Time to put some closure on the Michael Jackson crap and move on. Years from now they will be using his name just like Elvis' daughter used his to get her "career" off the ground, which never went anywhere. Their's won't either. They weren't his children and didnt' inherit his talent. What a mess; glad it isn't my family!!!!!!
Reply
I'm quite sure they are very glad you aren't their family too, bitter one.
You couldn't ask for a more wonderful, touching tribute than that of
Prince and Paris.
And for those who are wondering who is the "real" daddy? Guess what,
Michael was their real father. Whether he is their biological father
or not is totally irrelevant. He was their father from the moment
they we were born and in every way that counted. Fatherhood is far
more than just sharing a blood bond. So why such a fixation on whether
or not he was their biological father? Does it really matter?

It was a touching tribute. Tell me, Pun intended?
disturbing ? the fact that their cousins were on stage for moral support ? that just shows how close of a FAMILY they are. especially as Blanket broke down minutes before Prince and Paris were to be onstage. i think you are reading a little too much into this one.

Those children have a right to pay tribute to their father if they choose to . Everyone bashing that man for something no one can even actually prove he did is wrong . Let them children love their father and be proud of him . It don`t take a persons blood to make a family bond , it takes a persons love ... and Michael loved his children !!

i personally think itz a great idea 2 carry out there farhter's music. i say go 4 it

I think people need to stop judging him and his children. It is not our place to judge someone. God will judge all of us when our time is up.

Did any one else notice that they flashed onto the face of these
kids' actual bio dad (sitting in the audience), right before the
kids started to speak?

You are crazy.
