Rip Torn is finding himself in more trouble these days. The actor was arrested Friday night for breaking into a Connecticut bank, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ, Torn -- seen here in a mugshot from a 2006 DUI offense -- allegedly broke the window of the bank and was found lying on the floor, "highly intoxicated," and carrying a "loaded revolver."
However, the president of the bank hopes the 'Men in Black' star gets help. He tells TMZ that he didn't think Torn meant any harm.
Hefaces several charges, including burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, carrying a gun without a permit and carrying a gun while intoxicated. He is expected to appear in court on Feb. 1.

Waiting to hear why he did that and what stupid excuse he will have.

I think the "highly intoxicated" part probably takes care of the stupid excuse...
There's nothing "alleged" about it. Is someone suggesting that someone else broke the window and Rip just happened to find it that way, enter the bank through it, and lay down on the floor?

The term is used to identify that Mr. Torn hasn't been formally charged, yet. He was found on the premises in a disheveled and highly intoxicated state while carrying a loaded weapon (which was unregistered) until the charges are brought before the court, nothing is certain... what the alleged robber's motive was, what he meant to do with the gun, or whether he was even attempting to rob the bank. Instead of the word "alleged", replace it with "supposedly".
Actually, "alleged" is a non-prejudicial term used until jury conviction, not just until being formally charged.
Thats like saying someone is a "suspect" in a crime when they were actually caught doing the crime. Never understood that one either.
"alleged" was introduced many years ago by an enterprising attorney that claimed refering to them any other way was predudicial to their client. It went through all kinds of legal proceedings and the attorney won. I don't remember what happened to his "alleged" client.
Is'nt breaking into a bank a federal offense with a mandatory 5 year sentence?

Only if you're not famous.
UNBELIEVABLE! The president of the bank said he didn't think he meant any harm!!!!! OMG!These people never have to be responsible for a damn thing they do!!
NO MATTER WHAT HIS INTENTIONS WERE, HE WILL GET AWAY WITH IT. HAD THAT BEEN ME, I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN AT LEAST THE MINIMUM 2-7 YEARS FOR BREAKING & ENTERING, NOT TO MENTION THE OTHER CHARGES. HE WON'T SERVE ANY PRISON TIME.
This was a better article before it was pulled and the typo's corrected, if ideed they were typo's! The original article stated that Rip was "arrested for carrying a FIREMAN"! Naturally, questions abound: Was the fireman loaded?(too?) Was it a concealed Fireman? Did he ever apply for a permit to carry a FIREMAN? Don't people realize that if carrying a fireman is illeagal, only criminals will have firemen? Everybody that wants to carry a fireman should be able to do so, provided the fireman is OK with that. Your opinion?

Ideed? Illeagal???
Carrying a fireman is perfectly legal in South Carolina. Loaded or not.
That's why we call it a Fireman's Carry.
How sweet! Was the bank on fire? I mean the one whose window he was allegedly was obviously thrown through.
I have been a firemen (firefighter) for 13 years and I agree with you Andy, I dont want drunk actors jumping through bank windows with me! And I dont want to accidentally discharge when I hit the floor....LMAO
LOL! Wish I had read it in its proper form!
They can have my fireman when they pry him from my cold dead hands, lol
Why even carry a fireman if it isn`t loaded to the gills ?
