Stevie Nicks Sings Backup for Taylor Swift at Grammy Awards

After much speculation, Taylor Swift was joined by Fleetwood Mac's leading lady Stevie Nicks at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Swift opened her performance with 'Today Was a Fairytale' and then announced, "It's a fairly tale and an honor to share the stage with Stevie Nicks." Both women sang Fleetwood Mac's 'Rhiannon,' and then Swift then grabbed her guitar to sing her hit 'You Belong With Me.' Nicks stood back, tapping her tambourine and to share singing duties with the young artist.

Taylor Swift, who was second to Beyonce in Grammy nominations with eight nods, won three early awards, including best country album. Though the 20-year-old has won just about every award imaginable over the past year for her best-selling CD "Fearless," she was wide-eyed and emotional when she accepted her trophy for the country album.

"I just keep thinking back to when you're in second grade and you sing in the talent show for the first time and people joke around and say, 'Maybe we'll see you at the Grammys some day.' But that just seems like an impossible dream," she said. "I just feel like I'm standing here accepting an impossible dream."

Taylor Swift cannot sing. everytime i have heard her sing live she was flat!!!!! i dont get how she keeps winning all these awrads....i agree with alot of your posts..she sings like she is tonedeaf live!!

im losing respect for the Grammy Awards and how they are chosing the artists..Something isnt right here when Taylor Swift wins so much and she cannot sing live..What kind of an artist is that?? Anyone can sing on a CD when the producer n engineers makes her voice perfect!!!! the actual talented artists are getting ripped off here..Taylor Swift sings like a lil 12 year old.....she doesnt even have vibrato in her voice!!!

Taylor Swift did NOT sound good. Period. I don't know if it was because this wasn't a 'country' song, but she was off key.

I am a country music fan.. there are so many talented singers that deserved the award more than taylor Swift..I get the role model for teenage girls, the innocence, the girl next door, songrwiter, all of it. I happen to like her music on the radio. But live???I cringe every time. This girl cant sing. I am embarrassed every time for her and for country music. I dont get it? why is she getting these awards?

I agree. I was listening to the song she sang with Stevie Nicks, and she kept missing her note. I was wondering if perhaps her ear monitor wasn't working right. She seemed to get better about half way into the song. But boy, it hurts to hear that when a Pro is flat over and over again. Hmm. But hey - she has a Grammy....so who am I?

Unfortunately, as long as a "recording artist" remains more financially important to recording studios and record labels than live performers, singers like Taylor Swift, Brittany Spears, and Jessica Simpson will make it in the music industry. At least Taylor Swift is a talented songwriter. The other girls can't sing or write music. It would be nice if the "live performers" would be rewarded for the talent they possess. I can not believe that the music awards are given to no talents like Taylor Swift. Amazing!!! Do the people who vote on these awards have ears?

I lost some respect for Taylor Swift tonight.. When Stevie Nicks came out, Taylor should have stepped back some, and sang some backup for the song Rhiannon. That would have been the proper thing to do. Stevie did that for her... Its important to know your place... Stevie deserved a moment... You know what I mean, don't you Taylor..

There's so many people with such amazing talent that will probably never get the opportunity to be heard. I guess you have to date a Jonas brother to get signed to a label. Taylor seemed like Ashley Simpson all over again. I'm sick of all of these manufactured pop singers when there are people in this world that can actually sing.

Taylor Swift is truly a talented musician and songwriter, but I wish someone would get her some vocal lessons in PITCH!

I love Stevie Nicks, and I believe that song belongs to her and her alone..And she can sing it on key.

Maybe Stevie was asked to perform with Taylor to enhance Taylor's performance on stage...no one can upstage Stevie on stage and I'm sure by now Stevie has learned to say know, I mean NO, to requests with which she disagrees. I've never been a huge fan of Stevie's but do enjoy some of her music, but DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN, Taylor Swift is terrible. She sounded worse than drunk karaoke. Miley Cyrus has a beautiful voice but Taylor? Puh leeeeze.

Taylor Swift had a tiny,awful voice. She has no range and would be booted off American Idol if they were to disguise her and make her sing live in the early auditions. Beyonce was awful too live. All she did was swing her hair around. She can't sing live either. What is wrong when the most talented people dont even get nominated and Taylor wins Best Album of the Year!!!! The Grammys were awful this year. The background stages were more interesting than than live performances. The rap and hip hop artists were embarrassing as Taylor Swift live! Whats wrong with American music???? It's all crap!!!
