After much speculation, Taylor Swift was joined by Fleetwood Mac's leading lady Stevie Nicks at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Swift opened her performance with 'Today Was a Fairytale' and then announced, "It's a fairly tale and an honor to share the stage with Stevie Nicks." Both women sang Fleetwood Mac's 'Rhiannon,' and then Swift then grabbed her guitar to sing her hit 'You Belong With Me.' Nicks stood back, tapping her tambourine and to share singing duties with the young artist.
Taylor Swift, who was second to Beyonce in Grammy nominations with eight nods, won three early awards, including best country album. Though the 20-year-old has won just about every award imaginable over the past year for her best-selling CD "Fearless," she was wide-eyed and emotional when she accepted her trophy for the country album.
"I just keep thinking back to when you're in second grade and you sing in the talent show for the first time and people joke around and say, 'Maybe we'll see you at the Grammys some day.' But that just seems like an impossible dream," she said. "I just feel like I'm standing here accepting an impossible dream."
thank god i thought i was the only sane person in america, taylor cannot i repeat sing, she sounds like a cat that has swallowed sand paper. she doesn't deserve the awards. who voted for her the deaf?
I have NEVER heard Taylor Swift sing on key!! EVER!! Is she tone deaf?? I'm serious. She may be a good songwriter, but she is definitely no vocalist...always under pitch (VERY flat), poor breath support and poor phrasing. Yuck. Beyonce, Ga Ga and PInk sing circles around Taylor Swift. Why is she winning all these awards? She is a cute girl, but most definitely NOT a decent singer. The only way should could HOPE to match pitch is in the studio using Auto Tune (ie being "doctored").
Taylor is cute and a great song writer, she is not a performer. Kids follow her and she is a great example for the younger generation. This is really tough because there are better performers who deserve these awards. I do not like to watch her perform. Sorry Taylor.
I had to cover my ears - Taylor was sooo off key! She did the same thing at another award show and sang with Cheryl Crow. I can't imagine how they are duping these music superstars to sing with her? She has a weak, whiny voice - that is obviously enhanced in the studio. Keep her there - don't let her out.
I bet Ryan bit his words after introducing Taylor as phenomenal. Her voice was flat and cringeworthy at best. It's so sad because this was the Grammy awards where you are supposed to know how to sing and are rewarded for it. She came across like an American Idol reject. Simon would have dismissed her so fast. Poor Stevie who is a legend had to endure that. The Grammys have no credibility now.
I've loved Stevie Nicks since the 1970s, but she's never been a great singer either. She has always been about her gypsy-witchy image and her songwriting that appeals to certain people. I think Taylor's kind of flat voice works with her songs; she actually sounds like a shy high school girl. Hopefully she'll be able to mature with her songs and singing. And speaking of great songwriters with not-that-great voices, ever heard of Bob Dylan? I'm not suggesting that Taylor's songwriting equates to Dylan's, at least not yet, but she's appealing.
Why dont both retire for good not just Taylor, Stevie has voice problems too that was so obvious well if she could harmonize with the likes of Tom Petty in the past, then she could have done so with Taylor today. Stevies days are done obvious to anoyone but me or herself? You could tell she didnt want to be there, why Stevie why? Its time to retire honey. We love you but there is a time to bow out gracefully. You sounded bad and look soooo tired.
I'm not disagreeing as far as Taylor's lack of singing talent, but I can't help but wonder how many posters on here have or would like to audition for Amer. Idol and have/would throw a fit when told they sound horrible? Every year hundreds of no-talents INSIST they can sing. And then they practially break our or the idol judges ear drums. But I've no doubt there are some critisizing people's singing who think they can sing, and don't realize how god-aweful they sound.lol No matter what your 'friends' or family say. You should know when your singing sucks. There are a lot of delusional people in this country.
every yr. one artist gets torn apart for their grammy appearance..if i was in the business think twice before you perform....taylor gets ripped alot...maybe if she was a rehab bound loose girl they'd give her a break.
OMG, the great and awesome Stevie singing backup for THAT! you have to be kidding me. This is the third time I have seen a live performance by Taylor. She is a wonderful example of how great you can be made to sound with studio recording because she is horrible live. Has been every time I have seen a live performance, off key, very weak voice, just awful. Stevie still rocks.
I have never thought that Taylor Swift could sing, its the young kids that are her fans and they will grow up soon, then we won't have to listen to her awful singing.
Stevie is a legend and still stands the test of time. Taylor Swift is just flavour of the month. The pairing of the two is disturbing. I want to see Dolly Parton do a duet with Stevie Nicks. Now that would be something to see. Dolly once said that she has always been a big fan of Stevie and would love to do a duet with her.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos
