Bret Michaels for President? The 'Rock of Love' Star Thinks It's a Good Idea
Bret Michaels went from hard-partying rock star in eighties hair band Poison to lovelorn reality television dating contestant on VH1's 'Rock of Love with Bret Michaels.'
After three seasons Michaels didn't find found the love he was looking for among the tattooed and surgically enhanced groups of ladies. These days he maintains an on-again off-again relationship with the mother of his two daughters, Kristi Lynn Gibson, and has made the command decision not to go back for a fourth serving of 'Rock of Love.'
And Michaels has found his niche in reality programming. Starting in March he will appear on Donald Trump's 'Celebrity Apprentice', and this summer star in a reality program about his life (obviously!). PopEater talked to Michaels about why he won't keep searching for a soul mate in front of the cameras (but he will let them continue to follow him around), how he got along with the Donald, his collaboration with Miley Cyrus and why he should be the one running the United States of America.
PopEater: Your fans are bummed they won't be seeing you on 'Rock of Love' season four. Why not give it another go?
Bret Michaels: "It was time to end the show. We had a good run and we got everything we could out of it. I enjoyed doing it and I have to tell you it was very real. It was me as me because my acting skills are limited. But during the third one the producers noticed all of the funny, strange and amusing other aspects of my life so we decided to shoot 'Bret Michaels: My Unprotected Reality' for VH1. It will probably air in the summer. I think people will enjoy the roller-coaster ride that is my life."
PopEater: After doing 'Rock of Love,' what dating advice do you have for the average guy?
Bret Michaels: "When it comes to women by the time they are drinking tequila you have 15 to 20 minutes of good and then you, as the guy, go from stud to babysitter real quick. The time frame makes all the difference."
PopEater: You're joining Sinbad, Sharon Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper and Darryl Strawberry on 'The Celebrity Apprentice.' What made you think you could win Donald Trump's business competition?
Bret Michaels: "I'm the super-underdog. I've been my own boss since I've been 19 years old. For better or worse, I've been on my own, I've learned to roll with the punches."
PopEater: Do you think Trump and the rest of the contestants underestimated you?
Bret Michaels: "I think he saw off the bat that I meant business. When you're both the predator and the prey in your life you have this certain look in your eyes and going into this I didn't think of anything other than each day on the show. I just put everything into the moment. Watching the show you think the boardroom is going to be intense 24/7 but there is a really funny side to Donald. He would say some funny things."
PopEater: What did you think of fellow contestant former Gov. of Illinois Rod Blagojevich?
Bret Michaels: "I feel like we came from the same background. I grew up in a steel town in Pittsburgh, PA and his father was steel worker. He approached me and just said 'I'm Rod' and he was actually very together very intelligent. He was actually quite intrigued by me and in some strange way we hit it off over where our families were from. He didn't lay it on too me too thick. A lot of people are going to be saying he was trying to preach his innocence but when we went into our first task he was extremely humble. I think when you're complete strangers to each other's career and there is nothing to gain or lose by becoming friends or enemies he turns out to be a really great guy. As far as his other indiscretions I never got into it with him and I wasn't interested."
PopEater: Have you ever considered running for public office?
Bret Michaels: "I have a shirt 'Bret Michaels for President.' I'd be good. When I am drinking beer at the bar I have all the worlds problems solved. I have figured out how to solve every problem in the world when I'm at the bar."
PopEater: Miley Cyrus is covering the Poison hit 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn.' How did the two of you get hooked up?
Bret Michaels: "I have known the family for a while and she was fan of Poison and Poison was her first ever concert. This year she had a Poison themed party for her 17th birthday. They asked me to come but I was in New York. Then they started talking about re-cutting 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn.'"
PopEater: So tell the truth, can Miley pull off the song?
Bret Michaels: "'Party in the USA' is a huge pop hit and I think she is one of the few people that could actually do this song. She has an unbelievable voice when she sits at the piano and plays the guitar. Miley is not a karaoke star. She is a real musician who can play and sing."
PopEater: Are you collaborating on the remake?
Bret Michaels: "I told her to take this song and make it her own and do it her way. I said you give it your flair and I'll play the acoustics."
PopEater: Do your daughters (Raine, 9, and Jorja, 4) think that working with Miley Cyrus is the coolest thing you've ever done?
Bret Michaels: "They are so impressed. My oldest daughter Raine did a whole report for school on Miley."
PopEater: Are the girls musically inclined?
Bret Michaels: "We have a music studio at the house and I have been teaching both Rain and Jorja. They take piano lessons and I got Rain a mini strat. She can play and sing. It's amazing to sit back and watch them write lyrics. They're young and creative but they're also into a million different things. Halfway through jamming they will all of a sudden be into something else."

Has anyone ever seen Michaels without a bandanna. Is he, um, balding?
Reply
yes...he is. for some time, there was a big deal about him taking off his hat/bandana. He went on Chelsea Lately and she tried to get his bandana off and he was so mad! (that was at the beginning of the 1st Rock of Love). After that, I saw him on t.v. w/o his hat/bandana and you could totally tell it was a wig! I think he is SO balding and that hair you see usually hanging out of his hat are extensions.
I mean what man, who supposedly has beautiful, long hair - hides it?? not a one!!
Does it really matter? You should look at what's inside, not outside. I'm going bald and I'm very confident with myself. We all have our own styles as well! I get many beautiful women and it's because of who I am on the inside, not because I'm going bald!
ANYONE would be better than the muslim clown in there now. a pile of my dogs poop could do better than mr ovomit

Ok Rush... Ugh, don't you have a clan meeting to be at? You hate mongers make me ill.
On the Bret for Prez note... If he thinks it would be a good idea clearly, it would be a horrible idea.
"Didn't find, found the love?" And you people write for a living? Go ahead and make him President. He can spend money as well as the current fool.

He's so stupid he's worth 100 million or more, and you're not. He has tons of fans, friends, and houses and cars and girls love him. Stupid like a fox.

Who cares if one is bald or going bald. Who cares if one is white or black. Who cares if one is fat or thin. What matters & counts in life is the person's heart. Looks mean nothing. Alot of people view looks as a turn off & ignore the true genuine heart of the person. The only time I ever view looks as a turn off is when they are in love with theirself due to their good looks or figure. GAG ME WITH A SPOON because they are NOT better than any other person here on earth.

Bret should be President, and as his first order of business he could rename Black American History Month to "KAYNE is DOUCHE".

I'm sure he is bald underneath that doorag, but he has the most beautiful eyes and a kind heart and thats a turn on. He has to maintain the rock image and you can't do that with a bald head now can you ?

first of all, bret is NOT worth 100 million dollars. if he were, he would not be doing a stupid reality show and he would be able to afford a better hairpiece.
second, you do not know what my net worth is.
third and finally...i forgot to mention that as stupid as bret michaels is...his fans are stupider.
