Elton John has quite a knack for throwing unforgettable parties. According to soon-to-be-released book "House of Versace" by Wall Street Journal correspondent Deborah Bell, Elton John played an integral role in helping the fashion maven kick her cocaine habit. The superstar singer reportedly staged an intervention for Versace at her daughter Allegra's 18th birthday party, following frightening and unpredictable behavior on the part of the designer.Versace spiraled deeper into addiction following the death of her brother, Gianni, who was murdered by spree killer Andrew Cunanan in 1997. Following John's intervention, Versace flew to Arizona rehabilitation facility The Meadows, where she received treatment for her substance abuse issues.
The book, published by Random House, goes on sale on February 2nd, 2010.
