So sad. Why can't people buckle up. It's easy and it saves lives.

I agree, Seatbelts save lives. He was probably dead anyway going off a a steep embankment and hitting 2 trees.
A very sad, waste of a young talented life! His living had barely begun....tragic!
Sympathies and prayers to his devastated family, friends, co-workers, etc.

Young Talent???? He was a person that was overpaid to memorize words..... Talent is someone who can cut a person open and do a heart transplant, go into a burning building and save a person.... this guy was someone who didn't do anything but get overpaid for nothing. That is whats wrong with the US. Please....
I agree it is a sad day when a young life is lost and could have been prevented. However, I agree with Mark that we over glorify celebrities! Especially the idiots on "reality" shows.
SOMETIMES......seatbelts actually CAUSE the death of passengers.
When they get stuck and WONT release...the victim USUALLY burns to death OR drowns. It happens ALOT. But they NEVER advertise THIS danger of WEARING the belts for some reason.

So, let's see...1 out of 1,000,000 Gets killed while wearing a seat belt. Therefore, no one should wear them?!! Yeah, hope you don't wear one; it'll stregthen the gene pool!
Freak occurrences aren't advertised because that's just what they are. Seat Belts Save Lives! In my state it is a traffic violation not to be belted up. Another thing that should be required by law is helmets for motorcyclists and passengers. Helmets also save lives.

How very irresponsible of you to say such a thing. My son was an Advanced Trauma Paramedic, an outstanding one. He often told me that he never pulled a dead body out of a seat belt in a car accident. He was in this line of work for 15 years. That must say something.
only the rearest ocassions does a sealtbelt, cause death-they have caused them-but the stats are almost negative on that because it is so rare-
just put the damn thing on and live! it is simple and easy to do.
i used to take accident scene pics and autopsy pics-never in 30 years seen a death cause BY a sealbelt.
not using one is just being a stupid ass and not putting kids in protection in a vehicle is criminal
Why don't u people stop hating on Marcus, he said it was a typo, you take everything a black man says out of context, or is he right about u white people being racist?
Are you joking? I've been a firemen for over 20 years and have gone to countless accidents. Hundreds if not thousands of accidents and I never unbuckled a dead guy. Some may have died later at the hospital but not at the scene which means seat belts atleast give you a chance. THe is a urban legend about seat belts not unbuckling.
I have been saved by seat belts on three different occasions. No need to go into details, but all three involved going over large embankments (over 70+ft)... into the water on one occasion. THEY SAVED MY LIFE!!!! It only takes a second to save ... or to lose a life....which will you choose? How about your child? Do you want to make the wrong choise for them? Good luck, I hope you continue with the living and non-disabled.
If you look at the statistics, seatbelts SAVE more lives than not.
Bathtubs cause death as well. Boycott bathtubs now.!!
My daughter plowed her face into a dashboard and is disfigured for life just because she didn't have a seat belt on. It would have made all of the difference in the world !
Brenda .... please go out for a drive tonight and don't worry about using the seat belt. I'm sure nobody would care if you were killed. From the way you talk you sound like somebody that doesn't serve or have any reason to be here. You really are a brainless idiot.
Brenda, i agree with you. (probably the only one that will). I knew someone who was not wearing her seatbelt and got in a wreck. had she been wearing it she would have been crushed by the steering wheel unstead of being tossed to the passenger seat. another thing..why is seat belt laws manditory but helmet laws for motorcycles not (depends on the state)Seems you would have a better chance of surviving in an enclosed steel frame
While it's true that there have been times when a seat belt contributed to someone's death, there are billions more times that seat belts save lives.
On January 28, 2008, a seat belt saved MY life! I always wore my seat belt before my accident, but now I won't move my truck a foot without putting that seat belt on first. I suffered 5 broken ribs in the accident, caused by the seat belt pulling me back against the seat. BUT, (according to paramedics at the scene) I beat the odds and lived!
