"That's why I'm wearing this pin tonight. I've just been doing a couple of different activities and events speaking out as a straight man about civil rights."Mraz is the latest musician to join the fight for same-sex marriage with several big names, including Bruce Springsteen, Slash and Lady Gaga, having already spoken out or rallied for the cause. But there on the Grammy carpet, with a who's who of music superstars in the house, Mraz called on a few of his peers to speak out.

If you support civil rights then you should support gay marriage. If a homosexual lifestyle is not your cup of tea, well fine. Who's asking you to live it? This is about all Americans being treated equally and having the same rights as their heterosexual counterparts. Homosexuals are born this way, and they have the same rights to life, liberty and happiness as everyone else.

What I don't understand is that though you are entitled to your opinion and I hope those who say, no or yes, it is your opinion, but who gave any one man or woman the right to tell someone how to live their life? Isn't it a human right to be happy in life and live it to the fullest extent possible? Gay, straight, or bi-sexual, it's your preference, so why should anyone else care? Everyone should have their right to live. If two people want to get married, let them. It's 2010, can't we all just get along?

I think that marriage is a religious thing, if two people want to be joined legally I see no reason they should not enjoy the same benefits
as a man and woman, but the church should not have to recognize it, but I see no reason that the government should benefit from them being gay and that's who does by not allowing them to coexist when one dies or for medical insurance I am straight and don't understand it but I don't have to live it
