Mea Culpa means: acknowledgement of your error or guilt, FYI. Sounds to me like he's saying things he doesn't really mean. I loved him in so many movies, but this business with drinking and being so incredibly rude to the police officers and the anit semitic statements just ruined my enjoyment of his acting-I'm not Jewish but have respect for those who are. As a retired law enforcement officer, I've been around hundreds of drunks who are like brick walls to talk to. Did he wake up out of it and think, "Oh my God, what did I do?" Or did he have a black-out (or say he had one to escape blame)? Seems to me that he still has a very long way to go! For shame!!!!

I am not a fan of Mel Gibson. Not by a long shot. I will say though, that the guy paid his dues and what was expected of him by the courts. He has admitted he did wrong and so far, has not made the same mistakes. So why is it that in almost every interview he does, the reporters feel the need to bring up a four year old issue? Gibson was drunk and rambled off a lot of garbage just like everyone does when drunk and agitated. And it was 4 years ago. Time to let it pass and give the guy a chance to move on. No one could possibly move forward if they are constantly being harrassed by their past. When someone does their time, then the subject should be dropped, so I say that the reporters that keep it going should lose their jobs. I would have called this guy an a-hole too!

Well, I AM a fan of Gibson's superb skills as an actor and a film producer, and it just shows what a boring and irresponsible reporter the person is for dregging up old tired news. Gibson paid his dues for his foolish gaffe, and is now attempting to jumpstart his career by way of a fine new movie, something that a responsible journalist would find more intriguing than predictable reliance on an old well-known story to scribble. If that's the kind of yellow journalism that Dean Richards practices, let him cover the continuing sickening saga of Jon and Kate Gosselin. That seems about his speed.

You need to be held responsible for your actions. 5 year ago, 10 years ago... tell that to a cancer patient or to a rape victom or even someone that is dead from a drunk driver. Being drunk and attacking someones belief's, nationality or anything else... shame on you. GET ON WITH IT OR GET OVER IT. That's what's wrong with this country...no morals any more.

He has so much class he dumped his wife via an annulment which more or less makes his 10 children bastards so he could run off with a chick,half his age who will dump the old tired drunk as soon as she has solidified he fortune. Yeah he's all class.
