Kate Walsh Reaches Divorce Settlement Via Coin Toss

Actress Kate Walsh ('Private Practice') and ex-husband Alex Young have finally reached a settlement in their ongoing -- and at times nasty -- divorce proceedings.

According to E! Online, the settlement was signed yesterday in Los Angeles -- with one interesting quirk: Their property assets will be divided up by, of all things, the flip of a coin.

"One-half of the community property furniture and artwork to be divided by alternating picks after the flip of a coin to determine who will pick first," the settlement reads.

According to the report, Walsh is required to make a one-time payment of $627,000 to Young. In addition, Young will receive "half of her payday from any work she took from the start of their marriage on Sept. 1, 2007, through their date of separation."

Divorce proceedings began in Dec., 2008 when Young -- a movie executive -- cited irreconcilable differences. Walsh counterfiled a few weeks later.

No word on which side Walsh will call -- but our money's on heads.

Young files for divorce against Walsh and he is getting one payment plus half of her earnings from when they married. What a bunch of BS. He sued her for divorce, not the other way around. I guess he's not doing very well. There are no kids involved, they should just part ways and that's it. He just wants the money and he is the gold digger.

Actually he apparently found out she was fooling around with the actor who was her current love interest in the show. I think his last name was Sutcliffe. So - she cheated and got caught, a lot like her character Addison who cheated on McDreamy with McSteamy. It's all pretty McStupid - like the show.

Let me ask a question. Are the ego's of these stars so BIG that they cannot manage to make a marriage last more than 2 years?????? How pathetic. Hollywood must be full of a bunch of arrogant pompous asses who let their own high opinions of themselves ruin their relationships. I guess the thought process must be - Well you dont ADORE me like my fans so you must not really love me. They all make me sick!

No - in her case it was more like she married Young and then something better came along. She was rumored to be kissing OFF camera with an actor who appeared in several episodes.
