Brangelina Suing Tabloid Over Split Reports

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still together -- and they've now taken legal action against the British tabloid that claimed otherwise.

The A-list couple is suing News of the World over its report that the stars were broken up and dividing their fortune.

"The News of the World has failed to meet our clients' reasonable demands for a retraction of and apology for these false and intrusive allegations, which have now been widely republished by mainstream news outlets. We have advised them to bring proceedings, which they have now done," Brangelina's London attorney Keith Schilling says, The Guardian reports.

Several weeks ago, News of the World claimed Brad and Angelina had met with a lawyer in December to discuss the division of their combined millions and custody of their six children -- Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.

"However, in this case we can confirm unequivocally, and upon instructions, that the allegations published by the News of the World are false as well as intrusive," their lawyer adds.

Although the pair hadn't been seen together much in recent months, since the News of the World story broke, they've been spotted at the Director's Guild Awards as well as this weekend's Super Bowl in Miami.

I am NOT a fan of Brad or Angelina. However, if tabloid lied and made up story they do need to be sued.

Who cares about Brad and Angelina...they are both news hounds and thrive on their lives being splattered all over the world. Why don't they adopt some of the poor kids that are here in the United States in the orphanages? I am all for giving all kids a chance, but what about the ones that are already here??? We need to take care of our own here first before taking care of other countries kids.... And I agree....what is with those names????

Rumors are and always have been a price they pay for stardom. Suing is and always will be an attempt for more attention and let's face it, these two are always seeking attention. The two little dummies that never grew up. Looks are gone and so are they.

I wish to god that she would go ahead dump Brad, put him out of his misery and move on to her next married man as she always does. I used to like her but when she broke up another marriage that was it for me. Yes I know everyone stays it takes two to tango but in real life I actually had a woman that would not leave my husband (now my ex) alone, stalking him until she got what she wanted. She had also done it several times before. But to each their own!!!!
