Howard Stern Says 'F-ing Maybe' to 'American Idol'

The
Howard Stern 'American Idol' rumors are no longer just rumors. On Monday, the shock jock addressed the situation on his radio show, saying he'd accept a seat in the judges' booth for the right price.
"They'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough," Stern said on Monday. That wasn't all he said, though it was probably the least offensive thing that came out of his mouth...
Rumors that Stern would take
Simon Cowell's soon vacant seat emerged last week after the
New York Post ran a story suggesting he is Fox's first choice for the position.
'American Idol' is "one of the few shows that could compete with Stern's $100 million a year Sirius contract," a source told the paper. "'Idol' bosses think he'd be even nastier than Simon."
Howard proved just how nasty he could be on the air Monday, claiming he would "tase"
Ellen DeGeneres if she does that "dumb dance" she does on her show, and "smack Randy Jackson's belly every time he opens his dopey mouth."
"For $100 million a year, to judge a karaoke contest? Ok. Why not?" he said.
One reason he might not take the job is that he's notoriously afraid to fly. He told listeners that he turned down an invitation to appear during
Conan O'Brien's last week at the 'Tonight Show' because he didn't want to book a flight to Los Angeles.
But money talks. Not that Fox will shell out $100 million to secure The King of All Media. Cowell makes about half that for his work as a judge. But Howard knows he just might be worth it.
"Name a person who could bring more excitement to that show than me," he said.
Certainly, the show would be a different 'American Idol' than the one we're used to with Howard at the helm.
"First of all, I would have straightened out that
Adam Lambert," he said. "The kid had more publicity than anyone and he f---ed up. And Number 2, I wouldn't even put through that good looking kid who won, that
Kris Allen. He never would have even been through."
Howard had sharp words for season 3's winner Fantasia, as well -- though he may have been mistaking her for someone else.
"Hey
Fantasia... Little boys are scared that you are going to sit on them. You're out. Honey, you look like you stepped out of a Haitian earthquake. You've got to go clean up your act."
But Howard isn't all hater all the time.
"I like that song," Stern said of
Larry Platt's "Pants on the Ground."
"He'd be in Hollywood right now, that guy."

I can't stand this pervert Stern. He is one reason I would never watch another Idol show if he takes a spot on it. Perverts and lesbians. Typical low class show like most of T.V. these days and they put it over as normal. Our world is sick.................

Stern was on terrestrial radio for close to thirty years and did not once . . . even when his rating started to slip in the late 90s and he could have used the controversy . . . utter any of the Seven Deadly Words. He's a far more disciplined broadcaster than that. No, the problem with his being on 'American Idol' is that, unless they're willing to let him utterly dominate the proceedings and essentially transform it into his show, he's going to be sitting there for large portions of the program doing nothing; and that's not the kind of broadcast he's ever done.
This is contract negotiation rebop, pure and simple. He's either going to stay at Sirius/XM (possibly for less money . . . there are ways to structure any deal to make it look like a pay increase, even when it's a cut) or retire.

Stooping to new lows. Sorry not for me, wouldn't watch it if you paid me. No class whatsoever in the Stearn!

Since Howard is sexually misguided and essentially a sexist dog I for the life of me what good he would do for idol. He like oversexed teens really lacks credible judgement of talent or anything else, except maybe porn stars.

Are AI executives so out of touch with the real world that they would even consider Stern???? I've never watched AI (and am proud of that fact) and most assuredly have only been forced to listen to Stern when the headbangers at work have the volume up too high, its pure garbage. AI will fall in line with that. Pure garbage. And now that I know that Sirius pay him 100 million a year.. I will never ever subscribe to satellite radio. EVER!

FOR THE RIGHT PRICE??? F**K Stern and Sc**w American Idol. This is the problem with the entertainment industries. They pay these worthless F**ks outragerous amounts of money for a job they have no talent nor business doing. This is why our cable bills keep rising. WORTHLESS CRAP!!!! Tune in, TUNE OUT - TURN OFF. Lets show these bastards... we are not taking this crap anymore.

The King of all Smut an Idol judge? That will definitely be the death of that once great show. That 6' 5" pervert won't be able to utter four words without the "f" word included. His knowledge of good music is nil, his personality is sickening, his appearance is laughable and his mental capacity is seriously in doubt. He would mix like oil and water with Randy and Kara and his anti gay feelings will go over will with lesbo DeGeneres.

I'm not fond of Simon but I absolutely despise Howard Stern so if they replace Simon with Howard I definitely won't be watching American Idol. My kids and I watch American Idol religiously but there's no way I would subject my kids to watchimg anything that has to do with Howard (the pig) Stern

ABsolutely would not watch idol if Stern is on! He would ruin it. I'm waiting to see if Ellen messes up the show! Howard is so foul mouthed, I don't see how he could rate anyone w/out using curse words & even worse.

Howard Stern was refering to what was said on a Morning show in Cleveland on Fox 8. Wayne Dawson said something about him and he reponded to it !

Howard on Idol? That would be THE LAST episode of American Idol I ever watch PERIOD.

If Stern is on the show I will DEFINITELY stop watching it. He has the ability to make a lot of money because of his shock value and his big dirty mouth. Kids watch this show, and it will quickly decline from the most watched to the least. Only teen age boys will contnue to watch.

Re: "That wasn't all he said, though it was probably the least offensive thing that came out of his mouth". Sam Brand, you are a disgusting 3rd rate joke of a journalist. You don’t listen to the show; you have no idea what he said that day or any other. Yet you want to editorialize on what you think, but don’t know. You only demonstrate your prudish ignorance.

Considering that the southern voters "always" ( as was the case with Adam Lambert) win, do you really think any of them will even WATCH Idol let alone vote? The panel always picks people that.."the Mom's will love" "the teen girls will be wowed by". If Mr.Pervert himself....Howard Stern was a judge, I can't even imagine a Mom letting her child ON the show , let alone WATCH the show. It would be the END of Idol. There are far better people for that job. It's going to fall from the #1 TV show in the world either way with Simon gone, but it would be nice to allow it to go on instead of sabbatoging it's future.

You need to change the name of the show to: "The American Freak Show" and move it to 3:00AM. With Ellen and Sterns on the panel,I feel sorry for the contestants.

If they let this idiot be a judge on AI then it just proves the show is rigged and not worth watching

What is going on? First they replace Paula with Ellen (who by the way has no musical background to my knowledge) and now Howard Stern? Certainly there must be somebody out there that would make a good judge, because of their musical abilities. I am hoping this is just a rumor!!! The panel of judges is turning into a "a joke"......

rarely watch Idol but will NEVER watch if HS is a judge
