Howard Stern Says 'F-ing Maybe' to 'American Idol'

The
Howard Stern 'American Idol' rumors are no longer just rumors. On Monday, the shock jock addressed the situation on his radio show, saying he'd accept a seat in the judges' booth for the right price.
"They'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough," Stern said on Monday. That wasn't all he said, though it was probably the least offensive thing that came out of his mouth...
Rumors that Stern would take
Simon Cowell's soon vacant seat emerged last week after the
New York Post ran a story suggesting he is Fox's first choice for the position.
'American Idol' is "one of the few shows that could compete with Stern's $100 million a year Sirius contract," a source told the paper. "'Idol' bosses think he'd be even nastier than Simon."
Howard proved just how nasty he could be on the air Monday, claiming he would "tase"
Ellen DeGeneres if she does that "dumb dance" she does on her show, and "smack Randy Jackson's belly every time he opens his dopey mouth."
"For $100 million a year, to judge a karaoke contest? Ok. Why not?" he said.
One reason he might not take the job is that he's notoriously afraid to fly. He told listeners that he turned down an invitation to appear during
Conan O'Brien's last week at the 'Tonight Show' because he didn't want to book a flight to Los Angeles.
But money talks. Not that Fox will shell out $100 million to secure The King of All Media. Cowell makes about half that for his work as a judge. But Howard knows he just might be worth it.
"Name a person who could bring more excitement to that show than me," he said.
Certainly, the show would be a different 'American Idol' than the one we're used to with Howard at the helm.
"First of all, I would have straightened out that
Adam Lambert," he said. "The kid had more publicity than anyone and he f---ed up. And Number 2, I wouldn't even put through that good looking kid who won, that
Kris Allen. He never would have even been through."
Howard had sharp words for season 3's winner Fantasia, as well -- though he may have been mistaking her for someone else.
"Hey
Fantasia... Little boys are scared that you are going to sit on them. You're out. Honey, you look like you stepped out of a Haitian earthquake. You've got to go clean up your act."
But Howard isn't all hater all the time.
"I like that song," Stern said of
Larry Platt's "Pants on the Ground."
"He'd be in Hollywood right now, that guy."

I cancelled my Sirius radio because of him and others who have a limited vocabulary and now I guess I won't being seeing any more Idol shows.I think there are more people who like a clean show than there are those who need a trash kick every day.

If Stearn gets the spot I predict a backlash with many viewers refusing to watch. He is a womanizing jerk and doesn't belong on a family show!!

Howard Stern belongs on Idol about as much as brocolli in a Gerber's jar.

American Idol is on its way out. When they have to get people like Ellen DeGeneres and the filty mouth, no moral Howard Stern then it's not going to last. These two people don't know talent when they see it. It maybe a lot of people watching but there will be even more not watching and the show has to have a certain amount of fans watching weekly or it will go off of the air. I won't be watching it like I use to. Bye Bye AI.

Um first off, all you people that are putting down howard need to just shut up. The problem with this country is that there are way too many uptight people. Everybody needs to just loosen up and have a good laugh. People also need to get their facts straight, Howard Stern doesn't put down anyone unless they deserve to be put down, you would know that if you actually listened to his show. One of Howards greatest talents is that he is willing to speak the truth no matter who it offends, and thats being real. I think that Howard would be a great addition to American Idol simply because of his honestty. Although personally I hope he doesn't go because that would most likely be the end of his radio show, and then I'd have to find something else to listen to while I'm at work. BAA BAA BOOEEY!!!

Ya know, "Sternfan", not all of us "haters" are as ignorant as you claim. I am a hater because I AM educated on Stern and his show. Yes, I have watched when it was on TV, AND listened to it on the radio, and I still find him offensive, rude and crude. I am by NO MEANS a prude and I'm as open as the next person. Being an honest person with an opinion does not give you "talent". You can sugar coat him any way you want, but he's a bad seed. He has NOTHING to do with music nor is he qualified to be a music judge. If he was "qualified", it would be a different conversation altogether. Get over yourself. Just because I'm not a fan of Mr. Stern, doesn't make me ignorant to him or his show.
How low can u go

Don't know who makes such decisions in matters such as this, but some body has lost their ever loving mind to even give a thought to putting this piece of rotting humanity on a family program.

If Howard goes on the show then I will begin to watch American Idol for the very first time. I'm proud to say that I'm one person that hasn't been duped by that stupid show, although I must say I liked Simon Cowell in the few clips I've seen from the show on other programs. Howard would bring an edge to that show that it so desperately needs. I couldn't stand goody, goody Paula and Randy is a dope and those clips I saw only back me up on that. These wanna-be singers need a good kick in the ass and someone to tell them then and there that they haven't an ounce of talent and to go find work somewhere in a carwash or Burger King...learn to say "You Want Fries With That?
Yeah, bring Howard Stern on and you'll see that show get interesting.

I don't care for Idol, somehow the best really never make it through to the end. So between "degenrate" and "stoned" that should really kill the show.

American Idol is a show the whole family can enjoy. When you put a sexist imbecile on like Howard Stern, you have ruined it for most of us. I, for one, will not watch it if they choose to make him a part of the process.

This HAS to be a publicity stunt started by the jerk himself. There is no way on earth FOX would put the misogynistic degenerate on a prime time family show. I think the other judges would protest it. It would send IDOL straight down the tubes. I wonder what his daughters think of his sleazeball act. Oh, sure, they're laughing all the way to the bank, but deep down they have to be ashamed of the pig.

Once Simon is gone the show will die anyway so I wouldn't put it past these desperate, ratings starved, production "Experts" to bring in this disgusting, repulsive, bottom feeder for a last gasp attempt to milk a few more episodes.

Stern is a PIG. It would be a sad day if he joins the judges. This is a family show at least for now. Stern can play in the gutter were he belongs.

With Howard Stern as a judge, I can hear the announcement from Ryan Seacrest now "OUR NEXT AMERICAN IDOL IS, long pause a very long pause, WILLIAM HUNG" No, I for one will no longer be a loyal viewer, but I may tune every once in a while if I need a good laugh.

Stern is death to the show. Anybody who would let their talented kids near him is out of their mind. He is a crude loser and if he's a judge , I will terminate my longstanding loyalty to the show.

I have never watched American Idol and I sure won't start now.

Howard Stern? Please, no! His claim to fame is being nasty. Do not confuse that with Simon being blunt. There HAS to be a better option....
