Justin Timberlake is no stranger to winning awards, though the one he was given on Friday night was certainly a bit stranger than usual. Wearing a bra, wig and high heels, the six-time Grammy and two-time Emmy-winning singer, producer and actor was presented with Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals "Pudding Pot" and named its 44th Man of the Year.
Half an hour earlier, Timberlake, smartly dressed in his Sinatra-styled gray suit and gray fedora, tie (also gray) and white shirt, arrived at Harvard's small New College Theatre for the traditional roast, based around that old Ivy League predilection for drag and bawdy humor. The vaudevillian 'This Is Your Life' skit soon had him wearing a curly blond wig, like the cherubic singer's hair when he first found overnight fame in 'N Sync.
Actually, Timberlake got off lightly, as a pointy bra and panty wearing "Madonna" came out with "Lady Gaga" on a leash, boasting, "I created a clone." "Oh Madge, I don't remember you being that tall," Timberlake said, aghast at the huge figure. Later, four oafish men pranced around as his 'N Sync bandmates and cajoled a giggling Timberlake into busting some dance moves. "We'll help you, but this time there's string attached," said one.
No insult was spared, as an overweight, pork-rind loving "Britney Spears" appeared onstage. "Oh, I didn't see that coming," Timberlake said sarcastically at the large man dressed in a long blond wig and mini dress. "That wasn't the first time Britney opened up for him," one emcee noted of the pair's former romance. The overweight "Britney" begged Timberlake to feed her some pudding, snarling "Gimme pudding!" He obliged, grimacing as he spooned goo from a carton into "her" mouth.
Then came the award and those red high heels and a bra seemingly made from colorfully-decorated boxes. "I'm not used to putting one of these on," Timberlake said as he struggled into it. He curtsied after being presented with the pot saying, "I've never felt more like a man than I do now. This is truly an honor -- and is probably already on YouTube."
