Ellen will be more fun to watch, and will bring some laughs to the show. If stenr ends up on this show, I wouldnt ever watch it again, or anyone I know for that matter. Hes a no classed, nasty talking, no mannered, back wooded, fugly man. I have to hold back my feelings on here. I cant write what I really think of him.

I am not so sure about Ellen but I agree with you 1 million percent about That Howard Jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Diana, you hit the nail on the head. I fully get your drift on Sterns. I'm sure it's right along with my thoughts. He would be the death of Idol. Ellen is more than qualified to be a judge. She did her time in the trenches, and knows what sacrifices you must make in order to make it to the top.
It's not just about being the best singer of the season. It's about staying power, and I believe that Ellen can go a long way teaching the contestants that.
who cares !!!!! watching american idol is just as bad as a terrible night in a kareoke bar. and KELLY CLARKSTON CAN NOT SING!!!!!

PopEater is a joke. I drafted a long response, anti-Ellen, of course, and they never send the email confirmation link despite stating they have. Discussing Idol matters on AOL used to be fun and interesting, but since PopEater took over, it stinks!!

The last thing america needs is this lesbian flaunting her life style on another show. GET RID OF HER

Idol is DOA

How can Ellen judge talent when she has none? Now they're talking about adding no-talent Howard Stern! A queer woman and a pervert!! I feel sorry for the contestants!!

the show is now gay fodder toast.goodby

I was an "average viewer" and Ellen does not represent me. I love Ellen on her on show...very funny etc but Idol is now a sinking ship not worth watching for me. Simon leaving is the final straw. He is making a very smart move. So, no Ellen will not make me watch Idol.

If people are so hung up on Ellen being gay,, look to your left, or right. This country is full of gay people. Its 2010, way past time to get over it. Not everyone will change their way of thinking on this. But time will pass us by, if we all or not more accepting with others way of life. We may not approve of it, but they may not approve of somethings we do every day. This is something that makes this country wonderful, we all have choices.
Howard would ruin Idol, Ellen is wonderful, if you have never seen her show, watch it. I was surprised at how funny, and intertaining it is. She would bring that same humor and sweetness to Idol. I dol could use some laughs, instead of only laughing at the people who are singing. I always have thought that was very rude, those are the same people that help make the show.

I totally agree with you... I love Ellen and I know she will be great on the show. And I love Simon I am going to miss him I'm glad he is starting another show so I can see him..
I am not "hung up" om Ellen being gay. I just do not think she is funny. I do not like her. When Idol brought her on the show I thought it was a joke. ( now that is funny) Howard? heck no! I do not care for the other female on there either. To me she trys to act like Paula, which she will never be able to do.She came on to the male contestant with the long hair and she trys to "snuggle to Simon. I think she is horrible amost ashorrible as Ellen. I think the show will bomb. I can not hardly stand towatch Idol anymore. It just is not the show it use to be.
I don't care if your gay, straight or nutered, just please keep your sexual orientation to yourself. NOBODY CARES !!!!

Ellen's orientation is irrelevant - the fact that she's annoying is! When she guest judged a similar show - So You Think You Can Dance - it was AWFUL and ruined the episode. These shows aren't about Funny - and the contestants endure enough attempts at humor from the useless Randy Jackson. And don't get me started on the egomaniacal trogolodyte Howard Stern. I would NEVER even be tempted to check the show out again if he showed up. He's DISGUSTING, pathetic, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out he was sociopathic! I hate to say it, but this year will be the final death spiral for Idol.

I think Ellen will be a breath of fresh air.

Even tho, allot of people may not agree with me. I do not think her gay life-style will add anything to the show. Allot of young people watch this show. My grand children for one. I know their Christian parents will not let them watch it anymore. I think the show can get someone better than her. Sorry, I think you are making a big mistake putting her on American Idol.

The popularity she's amassed from her talk show will certainly boost the sagging ratings of "AI" after tonight. As for the possibility of Stern joining the judges' table,if the network suits offer enough moolah to snag him, they had also better prepare themselves for a possibly show-killing TV-MA rating.

I think Ellen would be great for Idol. She is a wonderful host and I watch all her shows in Australia. I am Gay and she understands other people and isn't judgemental against others in my view. You are FANTASTIC Ellen keep up the good work and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, even though it may be a little late.
Love and Cheers

I think, because Ellen has a large audience, they may see the viewership increase for a night or two....but then it will return to normal or below , as the case may be. Ellen is great on HER show( but I lost interest in that after a while because it is the same thing over and over and over.....) BUT I really think she will wear thin quickly on AI.
Howard Stern...Kelly Ripa's great friend(cough)....EGADS!!!!!!..tell me this is a horrible joke! Can't see it happening.
