The biggest blunder in primetime went out with a whisper Tuesday night, as Jay Leno signed off his ill-fated 10 p.m. show with a few jokes but no tearful goodbyes -- or mentions of 'The Tonight Show,' for that matter.
"It seems like just yesterday I was telling NBC this was not going to work," the comedian said during his last 'Jay Leno Show' monologue. "This show was supposed to be on for two years ... but we got five months for good behavior."
Guests included Kurt Warner, who threw a few passes and 'Precious' star Gabourey Sibide. Donald Trump stopped by via satellite to, you know, fire him. But comic relief was provided by Ashton Kutcher, who revealed the whole experiment was actually one of his elaborate stunts for 'Punk'd!'
"Six years ago, I sat in an office at NBC -- unfortunately, we forgot to roll the cameras and so I don't have any of the tape, but I thought I'd come out and do the reveal," Kutcher explained.
"You did a hell of a job," Leno played along. "I'm glad it's over."
During his last show, Leno didn't talk about his his move back to 'Tonight' following the Olympics. He also hasn't made clear if they'll stay on the same set. The large "10" inlaid on the stage may have to be pried off.
In the end, Leno made no goodbyes to his earlier audience, but he did urge viewers to stay tuned for the local news.
If Howard Stern does replace Simon Coell, it won't be for long. 1 season is all it takes before the show would be canceled due to poor ratings. If Stern is like Cowell and dislikes everybody, regardless of how good he/she is, then Howard Stern should not even be offered the job. As for Simon Cowell; Let's see if I got this right, the show is called "American Idol" and Cowell, who was born in Great Britain is a judge. That would be fine if this was "Britain's Got Talent".
Jay Leno is great, and when he gets back on the Tonight Show it will be great once again. That is, once the pudit get tired of kicking him around.
Enough has been said about the Leno and Conan story, Jay did right by not bringing it up. Jay has his show back, and Conan waltzed to the bank with his millions. Enough said already!!!!
The idea of Howard Stern just makes me want to throw up. I think that someone that has some music credentials would be great and I think that Ringo would be a great idea.
All Stern can offer is his brand of sleaze which really isn't fit for human viewing. Want to kill the show within 90 days, please hire him
Leno is not funny, nor has ever been. His standup is about as funny as Al Pacino in GIGLI. No more proof is needed as he had one the least talented douchebags in Hollywoood history in Ashton Kutcher. No talent tools stick together I guess.
Stern is a low life moron who has been successful only due to the fact that so many of you out there are of the same low life caliber with matching IQ and shoe sizes.
Re Leno, OF COURSE THAT SHOW WOULDN'T FLY. The whole thing was wrong for Leno -- EVERYTHING -- the chair (no desk), the FORMAT (earn your plug?, the celebrity question portion, THE SET -- yikes, who designed that, it's terrible, looks like a chinzy game show set). Looks to me this show was designed to fail! I certainly hope he returns to the exact same "Tonight Show" he came from at 11:30.
Why is this a story, Jay got more bucks then 99.7 of the population. I have a job tomrrow, I can not stay up and worry about hollywood stars and the writter of this article needs to be fired and work in a soup kitchen oe with ACORN . Stupid lib journalism. NBC is all lib, no one watches them except the entitlement people
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

If Leno is not funny how do you explain him holding the top ratings for seventeen years? He must have been doing something right.

I think they should replace American Idol with a good movie.
