Lil Wayne Skips Prison with Toothache

What a week it's been for Lil Wayne. The New Orleans native celebrated a Saints Super Bowl victory. He celebrated what he thought would be his last days of freedom before spending up to a year behind bars. He shot nine music videos in 48 hours. And he was granted an adjournment of his prison sentence for weapons possession after he showed up to his hearing with a messed up mouth.

Talk about fast times on a sizzurp high...

Weezy thought he was going to be put away for a long time when he invited friends, family and random stars to his Super Bowl celebration-slash-going away party at Miami's Dolce nightclub. The 27-year-old rapper, real name Dwayne Carter, had plead guilty to possessing a loaded handgun on his tour bus in 2007. He was scheduled to begin serving a one year sentence less than two days after the Saints swiped the title from Peyton Manning and the favored Colts.

But the gold-toothed hip-hop star was saved by the dentist's drill -- at least for now.

On Tuesday, Wayne's attorney asked a New York judge to delay the rapper's jail sentence until he recovers from surgery to repair a cracked tooth. Wayne didn't say a word during the hearing, and judge Charles H. Solomon agreed to give him a pass until March 2.

Wayne will now return to Miami, where he'll undergo oral surgery on Friday and require a week to heal.

But if we know Weezy, we know sitting tight and recovering isn't all he'll be doing over the next few weeks.

On Tuesday, MTV News caught up with music video director David Rousseau who revealed the notoriously prolific rapper shot an astounding nine music videos between 9 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. on Super Bowl Sunday.

"We shot some sh-- from the [We Are Young Money compilation] album, we shot something from [Wayne's forthcoming] Tha Carter IV. Some stuff from [Wayne's recent LP] Rebirth," Rousseau revealed.

"Unlike T.I. and some of these other guys that's disappeared while they were [in jail], the point is to keep Wayne [visible] on TV and everything for whatever time he's in."

Don't tell us the workaholic rapper won't be re-shooting a music video or two now that he's got 20 fresh days of freedom. Heck, Weezy might record a whole new album before the month is over. Too bad he's already got one called I Can't Feel My Face...

Just because you don't like the music you can't call it crap he's a multi- millionaire so someone likes it. Besides at the superbowl Jay z started and The Who finished. oh Connie Ewill and Leroy take your head outta your ass and don't be so naive, or better yet racist. Rap is getting the same "rap" rock has gotten when it first came out. A friend of mine told me the reason he does'nt like rap is because he can't DANCE. LOL

I love Lil Weezy F Baby!!!! Leave the man alone. So he had weapons, he didn't shoot anyone right? Right. He is a workaholic. He works hard for what he has and he is very talented and probably the best rapper alive. I actually dont really care for rap. I'd rather listen to music like Lady Gaga, B. Spears, Slipknot, Deftones, Rob Zombie and Taylor Swift but I have to say that Lil Wayne is amazing.
