Alec Baldwin Briefly Hospitalized Over Daughter's Concerns -- Report

'30 Rock' actor Alec Baldwin was rushed to a New York City hospital overnight after his daughter thought he was being unresponsive, according to various reports. A law enforcement official told the Associated Press that Baldwin and 14-year-old Ireland had been arguing, and she told 911 that he had threatened to take pills. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity.

According to various accounts, when police and medics arrived at his apartment, Baldwin was awake and agreed to be taken to the hospital for examination. He was driven to Lennox Hill Hospital, where he was treated and released an hour later.

Baldwin's publicist issued a statement calling the whole thing "a misunderstanding on one person's part." The statement said Baldwin is "completely fine and will be at work" on Thursday.

The Emmy-winning actor has no known history of illness. Baldwin's relationship with daughter Ireland was the source of a 2008 scandal involving phone messages in which he berated her as a "pig."

Alec always has a just brushed clean look that is usually associated with a drunk who just for the moment is recently sober and is surprised by it all ....yes it is alcohol mixed with a nasty attitude that has made a trip to the hospital necessary this time for Alec, the actor.

Alec's problem is that kim and the rude thoughtless little pig keep going to the press or calling 911 or whatever and dragging their dirty laundry out in public, because Alec is enjoying hige success, Kim, not so much so. Geez-Alec, how much more can you do to emotionally screw up this little girl. He STILL hasn't truthfully accepted that he was an a-hole with the vicious voicemail to her a few years back, and now has his publicist put out a statement making her seem mentally deficient because she found dear ol'Daddy stoned beyond coherence. Way to throw your kid under the bus. Yeah--Alec Baldwin--Father of the Millenium.

Whatever you think of Alec Baldwin,and I agree he can be a nutcase at times, you have to be appalled at the NYC law enforcement "official" who told the press details of the incident. I'm surprised the person didn't give his/her name so he/she could have their 5 minutes of fame, too. (eyeroll)

How do you get treated and released in an hour? Around here you're looking at three hours minimum to be seen, treated and released from emergency.

Because there was nothing wrong? This kid of his is a pain in the butt... they should start looking at her.. If I were him... I'd have the very least possible interaction than necessary with her... let her stay with her mom! She is an obvious trouble maker and knows how to push buttons with the media

To userbub: I do hope you are being sarcastic. If you think all parents use the "suicide" card or even the "Santa has passed away" card to control their kids, you are as sick as (or sicker than) Baldwin. I seriously doubt you have any kids - at least I hope you don't.

Everyone is so quick to jump on Alec. I think Ireland has issues of her own, and rightly so with the parenting she has had. But I think she a lot of drama in her head. She could have been arguing with her father and used the incident as a chance to make him look bad. I really think there is more to that little girl than meets the eye and nobody is looking at her, just him. ...I hope they all get the help they need.
