Alec Baldwin Gets Grabby With 'Scum' Photog

After a stressful day filled with phone-fights with his daughter, a brief hospital visit and '30 Rock' shoots, Alec Baldwin lost his composure Thursday in a confrontation with a photographer camped outside his home. The Emmy winner angrily grabbed New York Post snapper Tim Wiencis by the collar after spotting him outside his New York City apartment, yelling "this guy! this guy!" as he rushed him, the New York Daily News reports.

An INF staffer was there to photograph the event, which clearly shows an angry Baldwin going after Wiencis. Police were summoned, but no charges were filed. Witnesses told the News that Baldwin was heard muttering "They are the lowest scum of the Earth" repeatedly inside his building's lobby.

Oddly, the Post has not reported on the confrontation between the actor and their employee.

The outburst capped a rough day for Baldwin, who earlier was taken to the hospital after his 14-year-old daughter, Ireland, called 911 saying Alec had threatened to "take some pills" and "end this," an official told the AP.

Ireland, who was in Los Angeles, called for help after failing to get a hold of Baldwin on the phone. Medics arrived and Baldwin agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation. He was released from the hospital in an hour and took no alcohol or pills, spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said.

"This was a misunderstanding on one person's part," Hiltzik said earlier Thursday, presumably alluding to Ireland's 911 call. "Alec was quickly released from the hospital; he's completely fine and will be at work today."

"If there was a real problem or concern, he wouldn't have been released from a hospital within an hour," Hiltzik said later Thursday.

If I couldn't step outside my home without some photographer thrusting his camera in my face, I'd be just as pissed off as Alec Baldwin is, and I'd want to take somebody's camera and shove it up their ass. These paparazzi are parasites on the famous and if the stars are spoiled and arrogant, the paparazzi are even worse.

I wouldn't usually blame a celebrity for snapping at a paparazzi, but since Alec Baldwin was caught on audio tape with temper issues (remember his "rude, thoughtless little pig" voicemail message?) when there wasn't any cameras/paparazzi around, I think that he needs to go to anger management classes. He sounds just like my father, a man who loses it over the slightest minor issue.

Alec, Alec, Alec....what are we gonna do with you baby? You started out lean, gorgeous and strong and since marrying Kim Bash-him-in you've turned into this ugly man with MANY "issues", as they say. You were awesome in Hunt For Red October, but things kinda went downhill from there. You're still good, but not at your best-the anger is in your eyes all the time. Get some psych help my man and send that beautiful daughter of yours a gigantic bouquet of white roses and appologize to her face-to-face for your "act". What a rotten thing to do to a confused child stuck with a mother with an evil agenda! She undoubtedly loves you regardless of Kim's attempts to poison her mind against you.
