Alec Baldwin Gets Grabby With 'Scum' Photog

After a stressful day filled with phone-fights with his daughter, a brief hospital visit and '30 Rock' shoots, Alec Baldwin lost his composure Thursday in a confrontation with a photographer camped outside his home. The Emmy winner angrily grabbed New York Post snapper Tim Wiencis by the collar after spotting him outside his New York City apartment, yelling "this guy! this guy!" as he rushed him, the New York Daily News reports.

An INF staffer was there to photograph the event, which clearly shows an angry Baldwin going after Wiencis. Police were summoned, but no charges were filed. Witnesses told the News that Baldwin was heard muttering "They are the lowest scum of the Earth" repeatedly inside his building's lobby.

Oddly, the Post has not reported on the confrontation between the actor and their employee.

The outburst capped a rough day for Baldwin, who earlier was taken to the hospital after his 14-year-old daughter, Ireland, called 911 saying Alec had threatened to "take some pills" and "end this," an official told the AP.

Ireland, who was in Los Angeles, called for help after failing to get a hold of Baldwin on the phone. Medics arrived and Baldwin agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation. He was released from the hospital in an hour and took no alcohol or pills, spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said.

"This was a misunderstanding on one person's part," Hiltzik said earlier Thursday, presumably alluding to Ireland's 911 call. "Alec was quickly released from the hospital; he's completely fine and will be at work today."

"If there was a real problem or concern, he wouldn't have been released from a hospital within an hour," Hiltzik said later Thursday.

Once again teenage drama that was learned from the mother. I'm glad to see Alec was defending his own reputation by agreeing to go to the hospital, and it was confirmed he was not under the influence of anything. Who calls 911 just because someone doesn't answer the phone? A drama teen, that's who. The same drama teen who recorded her father's anger on the phone and then exposed it to the media. It's too bad he couldn't divorce her along with her batty mom, Kim. This girl needs professional help in a big way. Whatever Alec is paying for child support should be going to get her some major help from professional Psychiatrists. She is definitely a nut job like mom. Funny, every movie I've seen Bassinger in reminds me of a loose screw. You can just see it in her eyes that she is very unstable. As for the photog, it seems he got what he deserved, (AND wanted). Who wants a 12 inch telescopic lens shoved in their face? That is a violation of anybody's personal space. Alec took the higher road and didn't punch him. All of those media people with cameras are just hoping they can instigate a celeb to do something so they can "get it all on film". Sensationalism sells, and they all goad celebs to react so they can make some money off the pics. People should stop feeding the drama and invasion of people's personal lives. STOP buying the rag magazines that make up fiction just to sell. STOP watching "unreality" crap on TV like TMZ and other media that lie. Start telling "news" stations that you are sick of their hype and just want to hear the real news instead of lies, innuendoes, and BS. Maybe this drama will end without more casualties like Princess Diana's death and other lies that have ruined people's careers.

You are wrong about this kid. Her father, Alec is way too dramatic! I have seen many interviews where he demonstrates this and he has a horrible temper. He is the one that put in the head of the daughter that he was going to take pills. You never do this! He is the adult and she panicked! WOW Alec Baldwim in a huff--imagine that!! I,m not sure when he got back into the U.S. as he was going to leave the country if Bush was elected. Does anyone know when this looser left,where he went and when he got back?

I think Alec Baldwin is a great actor, but as a person, I can't stand him. However, I can totally understand why the famous are fed up with the sub-human papparazzi! If I were famous, I would probably be in and out of jail for punching each and every idiot with a camera in my face 24/7. Stalkers are no longer safe in the eyes of the LAW! Just because the call themselves Paparatzi!

This photographer is a nice guy who actually does mostly news not paparazzo stuff. Baldwin was acting for the cameras so he could blame his ex-wife for something. Baldwin says that the photographers knew his ex-wife. Thta's baloney. None of those guys or gals know Kim Basinger. Baldwin is scratching and clawing at normality again after he has another manic bipolar episode.

OK. Alec is the adult here. No matter what the 14-year-old does, he doesn't get to be abusive. He doesn't get to call her a pig. He doesn't get to tell her he's going to take pills and end it all. That's adolescent behavior. As far as being stalked by the paparazzi, that's part of the celebrity scene. If you don't want that, you don't choose that occupation.

Alec Baldwin is right. But unfortunately, we the people are largely at fault, we buy any magazine that's printing anything about these actors. We want to know about their personal and private lives. But it has gone tooo far, invading their privacy and making up stories just to sell their papers. We should stop buying these papers and apologize to these people. It's one thing when they give an interview and another prying into every second of their lives. So Alec, from me, I apologize.

Alex Baldwin is a joke! No one in their right mind takes him seriuosly. As an actor he is good, but seriously people HE IS AN ACTOR. Sure, teenagers, and younger, know how to manipulate their parents but THEY WOULD N'T WANT TO IF THEY HAD PARENTS TO BEGIN WITH. I never maniputlate my parents because they taught me better. Nor had my parents every "threathened" me with ending it all if I didn't do something. When Ireland couldn't reach him AFTER he said he was going to end it all, I would have called 911 too. Serves him right for ignoring his daughter's concerns. He needed to leave AMerica like he promised eight years ago, we all would have been better off.
