Alec Baldwin Gets Grabby With 'Scum' Photog

After a stressful day filled with phone-fights with his daughter, a brief hospital visit and '30 Rock' shoots, Alec Baldwin lost his composure Thursday in a confrontation with a photographer camped outside his home. The Emmy winner angrily grabbed New York Post snapper Tim Wiencis by the collar after spotting him outside his New York City apartment, yelling "this guy! this guy!" as he rushed him, the New York Daily News reports.

An INF staffer was there to photograph the event, which clearly shows an angry Baldwin going after Wiencis. Police were summoned, but no charges were filed. Witnesses told the News that Baldwin was heard muttering "They are the lowest scum of the Earth" repeatedly inside his building's lobby.

Oddly, the Post has not reported on the confrontation between the actor and their employee.

The outburst capped a rough day for Baldwin, who earlier was taken to the hospital after his 14-year-old daughter, Ireland, called 911 saying Alec had threatened to "take some pills" and "end this," an official told the AP.

Ireland, who was in Los Angeles, called for help after failing to get a hold of Baldwin on the phone. Medics arrived and Baldwin agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation. He was released from the hospital in an hour and took no alcohol or pills, spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said.

"This was a misunderstanding on one person's part," Hiltzik said earlier Thursday, presumably alluding to Ireland's 911 call. "Alec was quickly released from the hospital; he's completely fine and will be at work today."

"If there was a real problem or concern, he wouldn't have been released from a hospital within an hour," Hiltzik said later Thursday.

It's just so tough being a rich, pampered celebrity. And they contribute sooo much to society. Perhaps he would prefer middle-class anonimity instead. The only reason a celebrity exists is due to the fans, but don't they all eventually turn on those very fans? Oh, the burdens they must carry. Remember Alex, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it, and you did.

What kind of drama queen threatens his 14 year old daughter with suicide!!??? The 14 year old was probably terrified that her drama queen dad hadn't lied to get that kind of attention again! Who DOES that to a child? I'm beginning to think KIm Bassinger is justified and if this is all PR crap then using your daughter for that is just as bad!! SHape up Baldwin...you keep whining about being victimized...let's see some real parenting skills.

Alec Baldwin does not get the respect he rightly deserves ! A wonderful actor who I enjoy watching,absolutely one cool dude!

I think all that he's been thru over the last couple of years, we are lucky that he still wants to entertain us!

On the bright side, Ireland has never been emotionally abused by a drunkard
of a daddy, calling her "Little Piggy" and such over the phone. Verbal Abuse
should be tolerated just as much as physical abuse.....NOT AT ALL.
Does Mr. Baldwin have any history of verbally or physically abusing anyone?

With a cry for help like "take some pills" and "end this," somebody should step in before REAL damage is done.

The truth is that Baldwin had every opportunity to be a nice guy here. The photographer who is actually a news photographer had given Baldwin the opportunity to say something nice about his daughter. Think about it. "How's your daughter doing Mr. Baldwin?" Baldwin could have responded briefly and said something like "Oh my daughter she's great isn't she?" Or not responded at all....But NO !!!!! Hot Headed Alec Baldwin thought the worst. And whined like a baby and attacked again and he lashed out at the only person who gave him the opportunity to make himself look good after another fight with his daughter and an alleged suicide threat to his daughter. File under Alec Blunderwin.
