Road Report: Vedera Kicks Off Their Tour With Jack's Mannequin and Fun

Last fall, Vedera made an appearance on MTV's 'The Hills' that launched them into buzz band territory. The Kansas City natives performed their debut single, 'Satisfy,' and were filmed spending time with the cast backstage.

Now, the pop-rock four-piece is back in the limelight, touring with Jack's Mannequin and Fun in support of their current album, 'Stages.' Vedera will be checking in from the road with their personal stories and photos, beginning with this recap of the first few dates on their U.S. run.

So here we are on our fourth day on tour with Jack's Mannequin and Fun. We started with a 1,900-mile drive from cozy Kansas City to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Seattle, Washington, was our first stop. Since playing with Jack's on tour with the Fray last summer, we were excited to see everyone again and it really felt like seeing old friends. Fun was a bunch of new faces mixed in with their bass player Nate, previously from Kansas.

The vibe of the first show was great! Usually overall, it feels like everyone gets the first day jitters and everything seems a little disheveled, but I'd say this show was a hit! The crowd was full of energetic folks, and we played our first set on tour promoting our new album, 'Stages.'

Next stop was Portland -- chilled out Portland. We played the Roseland Theatre. Since our five and a half years of touring, we have played there about six times, and it's always a good time. Not only because of the people, sound, food, drinks, hospitality, etc., but also because there is an arcade/bar across the street open late and full of some of the best old school games. We always make sure to hit that up along with the new indie record shop they just put in next door.

Third day found us in Spokane, Washington for the Super Bowl, where, of course, the Saints took the game! The crowd is always energetic at the Knitting Factory, and this is becoming another home base for us as we tour.

So after making our way to Salt Lake today, we stopped into the Zuriik shop (shoes/apparel) to say hello to some friends and pick up some footwear for the tour. If you haven't checked out these shoes, you should (especially for boys), and they're coming out with some fab stuff for Spring/Summer.

Right now we're listening to the sweet sounds of Jack's Mannequin's sound check with PB & J in hand. Beer on tap is Squatters American Wheat and we're getting warmed up for the show tonight.
