Holly Robinson Peete Rejects John Mayer's Apology

It's been an icky week for Holly Robinson Peete. On Wednesday, she
gushed about "levitating" after hearing John Mayer said she was "gorgeous" in his
widely derided Playboy interview. As a result, she received scorn for appearing like a Mayer apologist. The problem is the '21 Jump Street' actress had only heard the flattering nugget and not his comments about black women, his joke that his penis was racist and of course his ill-advised use of the N-word.
Peete, who now says she's "disgusted" by Mayer, told
PEOPLE that the singer reached out to her via email to apologize "not for his comments," but for dragging her name into the scandal. Peete says that wasn't enough.
"At this point, it doesn't feel right for me to totally accept his apology," she said. "It's time for him to really just drop the frat boy act and take responsibility for everything that he said, no matter how painful it's going to be for him."
In Playboy, Mayer admits that although he's known as a ladies man, when it comes to black women, he hasn't been so open-minded. "My [d-word] is sort of like a white supremacist," he revealed. "I've got a Benetton heart and a David Duke [c-word]. I'm going to start dating separately from my [d-word]."
The actress has doubts that Mayer is racist, despite his saying "bigoted and flat out ignorant" statements. "It's possible," she says, that someone can say such things and not be a racist person.
"I want to make it clear that this guy has some major issues to sort through and a whole lot of apologies to make," she said.
Mayer has indeed
apologized several times for his mistakes, but more "my bads" should be extended to the two other black actresses he called out in the interview, 'Last King of Scotland' star Kerry Washington and Karyn Parsons (Hilary from 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air').
"I don't know if he understands how much he hurt black women's feelings."

I wonder if black females think tiger woods hurt there feelings.

Tiger Woods didn't say a word to or about anyone. And, in another footnote, this about John Mayer, and what he said. This not about Black People!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To your question...No..Tiger Wood never said anything about the black women...He said that he is not black...OK by me...and the Asians dont consider him Asian. The media played that up because he would never treat the black women that way..
Leroy, you wrote this:
I bet John is all broken up about Holly rejecting him. It`s not like
John has any interest in her anyway. Now if she was white i can see
him being really bummed...UH UH UH ... My reply, being white doesn't make you right.............ever

This guy has screwed so many white women: cameron diaz, aniston, simpson, etc. What do they see in him? I guess if you can hold a guitar and carry a tune, then you are something special. Yuck.

Well, what do we have here. Firstly, who the hell is John Mayer. I am not familiar with him. As for Holly Peete, she has been swept so far under the rug she doesn't count. But, if the man apologized to her she should accept the apology. He did not have to apologize at all. People will do anything to keep their name above water.

You sound ridiculous.. read that again.. would you say that to a man that degraded your sister.. because she was once famous, should we "Sweep her under the rug" You need to educate yourself!
Elvira!
YOUKIDDING, You are correct. I apologize for the remark.
No, he's not allowed to mess up once in a while. He's suppose to set
an example. A celeberty is someone you look up to, who sets a good
example, and people admire him becaue they is a cut above the norm, on the side
of what is good, not bad. Attitudes like that just make you rich,
famous garbage, just like all the other foot-in-mouth, drug infested,
so called artist of the day. They are not stars in the eyes of most people. I am
waiting for return of real stars. People who really had class. The
crop today, only have ego, and their false interpetations of who
they think the are, and how relevant they think they are. Ther've been reading about themselves, and believing too much about what they read. When you
guys are ready to really do something good, and don't need to have it plastered
everywhere, then maybe someone will have some respect for him, and for you with
that stupid cowardly opinion, trying to cover up both his, and your belief that eithere of you are relevant. Can't wait until both of you have your review with GOD. He'll school both of you.

It is a little hypocritical, I mean all of the white women Mayer has screwed feel the same way about black men that he does about black women. Try asking Jessica Simpson or Jennifer Aniston the exact same question, just replace black women and black men, and see what type of answer you get.

He is such an idiot.

So, it's not okay for him to say stuff like that, but if a black actor said "honkey" or "cracker", that would be okay, right? Oh, no, wait - it would be hypocritical.

LTD or TWD whichever you prefer it's all the same.

The sad part is that Mayer probably did think his satirical intent would be obvious. No way could his remarks be interpreted as serious. So why get so bent out of shape, as if anything this guy says should be taken at face or any other value? A publicity stunt, plain and simple -- a media firestorm to ignite some much-needed oomph under his lagging celebrity-ass. By paying attention, huffing in indignation at his racist sexism, you people are giving him what he wants. Sweep this no-talent jerk back under the rug where he belongs. John, we know you didn't mean it, so please take your d*** and ride off into the sunset.
