PopEater Poll Results: How You Voted on Ellen's 'Idol' Debut

Ellen DeGeneres began her run on 'American Idol' as the replacement judge for Paula Abdul.

In her two episodes, we saw Ellen take her place next to Simon at the judges' table, and watched as she critiqued her way through the gruesome Hollywood week.

What did PopEater readers think about her first days on the job? Is she better suited for her talk show or 'Idol'? Does her spot on the singing competition make you more likely to watch?

· Does Ellen make you more or less likely to watch 'American Idol'? Her appearance on the show makes 54 percent of over 41K voters less likely to watch.

· After her first week, how did she do? The vote was split. Fifty percent of over 36K say she's a great judge but the other half think that she'll never replace Paula Abdul.

· Surprisingly, however, Ellen came in second in the favorite judge poll, beating Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson. Simon Cowell earned 61 percent of the vote, Ellen had 21 percent, Randy garnered 11 percent and Kara came in last with seven percent.

· In the end, which of Ellen's gigs suits her best? A whopping 94 percent of nearly 31K voters think it's 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' and not 'Idol.'

Ellen is OK. She'll have a significant following no matter how many people protest. When Cowell leaves Idol, however, he will be replaced by an even wittier, far more classy, and certainly more music-savvy person to take his spot, and that is Ringo Starr.

Ringo Starr might have been a Beatle, but he is as boring as a toothbrush, make no mistake. Besides he is the least talented of the Beatles. I don't think that anyone is going to have him on AI, he will send all the viewers to sleep.

I can't stand Ellen, but the idea of Ringo as judge is a terrific one. Bilbah, or Bimbo, whatever your name is, you really don't know what you're talking about when you say Ringo is boring. He's 10 times more witty than Simon and knows far more about music than he ever will. Boring? Ringo is anything BUT boring. Apparently, Bimbo, you are in your teens because you have no idea what you're talking about.

What a brilliant idea to replace Simon Cowell with Ringo Starr. Ringo would be an upgrade to Cowell and I think the show would get even better. Ringo as judge. Let's do it!!

I like the idea of Ringo Starr, too, to replace Simon Cowell. Ellen has shown already she is going to take these duties seriously, so it would be a pleasure to see Ellen and Ringo Starr on the idol judging panel.

I think you are so right about Ellen. She is taking her judging duties seriously while sometimes adding a nice dash of humor. And, I like the idea being floated around about Ringo Starr taking Simon's place as judge. I didn't grow up watching the Beatles but I think he is very witty and clever. If he was good enough to be in the Beatles he's got to know alot about music. Alot of people have been saying Ringo knows 100 times more about music than Simon. Ellen is doing great.

I agree all you see is the dam gay and bull crap !!! simon built a good show and let the dogs take it over,,what is he thinking this season and 1 more will end it just watch,,and i guess he thought the dance she does before her show!! some how make her music judge,,i didnt watch her show then,,and now she and the rest will screw this up so im done watching it also!!!

To all the people hating on Ellen because she is gay and an abomination because of that. Do you Christian hypocrites ever read the Bible. You all pull one verse out of Leviticus, but seem to ignore all the other versus of Leviticus which were deemed abominations by God also. I just wonder how many of you so called Christians follow the other versus? NONE!!! Also, no matter what story is here on AOL you so called Christians do nothing but demean, ridicule and berate the person withing these stories. You are the most hateful people on the planet. You might want to recheck your facts...it is not just in the old testament in Leviticus but also in Genesis ...the new testament has several verses regarding homosexuality in Paul's letters to Rome (Romans) 1Corinthians and 1Timothy...also...most Christians believe that Christ is the NEW covenant...so the old testament rules are out...the Jewish believe in only the old testament and it rules and regulations...
