Betty White Not Sure Where Movement to Host 'SNL' Came From

Betty White sure is flattered that there is an Internet movement championing her as a possible host of 'Saturday Night Live,' but she remains nonchalant about it.

"I don't even know where that came from," she tells PEOPLE. "That just came out of left field. It's ridiculous. I don't think ['SNL' creator and producer] Lorne Michaels even knows about it, so we won't worry about it."

She promises that should the offer be made, she would gladly take the 'SNL' stage.

White is currently enjoying a resurgence in her long career, starring in the blockbuster 'The Proposal,' appearing in a Snickers Super Bowl ad and receiving a lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actor's Guild.

However, she is humble about everything. "It will go away, I promise. Don't get discouraged."

Betty White rules...I can';t think of anyone who doesn't love her. If they don't, then they're just too damned bitter! I'd love to see her take the SNL stage...that would be awesome!!!

I love Betty White, I have been a huge fan of hers and the other cast members on the Golden Girls. I have all of there seasons in on DVD lol...I think She looks great for her age! I hope that I have her same drive and witty sense of humor when I am 88 years old! I think that SNL is a great fit for her!

I can't think of another entertainer that has given such joy to soooo many generations. My two year old great granddaughter now stops whatever she is doing to catch a look at Golden Girls...she is the fifth generation in my family. Betty is truely a national treasure!
