Christina Hendricks Is Sick of Talking About Her Bodacious Bod

New York magazine's Valentine's gift to the world? Sporting the voluptuous Christina Hendricks of 'Mad Men' as their cover girl. The feature attempts to transcend the talk of Hendricks' traffic-stopping curves, but with a headline like "Woman of the Hourglass" and pulse-pounding lingerie photos, who are they trying to kid?

This comes weeks after Hendricks' Golden Globes outfit drew controversial comments from the New York Times ("You don't put a big girl in a big dress") and the ire of Hendricks' actor husband, Geoffrey Arend.

All the talk about her body: "It kind of hurt my feelings at first. Anytime someone talks about your figure constantly, you get nervous, you get really self-conscious. I was working my butt off on the show, and then all anyone was talking about was my body! It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth."

People try to miscast her in motherly roles: "The way we dress on 'Mad Men' is so associated with old photographs, with people's parents and grandparents. In person, I wear jeans and flip-flops and people are so shocked. They tell me I look so much younger than they expected."

Working on 'Mad Men' is a walk in the park: "We're really spoiled on 'Mad Men.' Lots of television actors use the down season to go out and get creatively fulfilled, but I feel the opposite. Anything else I get to do is just icing."

Yosaffbridge....laughed my FAO! Her episodes on Firefly were the best of the show, and that's saying something for the TOTALLY unappreciated show. Everyone I have made watch the show has turned into a fan!

WRONG. By posing like this, she's giving everyone who talks negatively about her shape a big "F You - here's my body, I'm proud of it and if you don't like it, too bad."

you jealous loser chics!!! the woman is HOT. shes got a beautiful face and skin and hair. shes got big boobs. she DOESNT have a big belly. shes got full thighs too. some of you skinny woman can stand naked with your feet together and you can still throw a football between your legs without touching either thigh. lol. THATS NOT HOT!!! this isnt a BBW. this is a healthy woman thats not just bones. i dont get it. about 1/3 of our population is just plain fat. back in the '50s it was way less, yet look at what a bombshell was.... monroe, sophia lauren the list goes on and ALL of them had boobs, butts and hips. THAT is a womans body. i wonder about guys that like women whos bodies could pass for a 10yo boys.

This young lady has a relationship with cameras that most women would absolutely kill for. I've never seen an image of her that didn't look terrific. Possibly, that means that she might actually be gorgeous. She's also a pretty decent actor.

A pretty decent actor--you got to be kidding. She's a great actor. Her work on the first season of Mad Men was Masterful. What could have so easily been one dimensional was a multifactetted portrial of a woman trying to navigate the men's world of business in the early sixties.

Here is the thing, if she wants people to stop talking she should put the northern and southern states away, and not bring them out to play so much. I saw her in the yellow dress. She was way too top heavy for it. Plus if you look at her top section one looks lop sided. I'm so tired of people saying don't talk about this and that, yet they go nearly naked on the cover of a well known magazine. Kinda like Kim Kardashian, makes a big deal about a dirty video, then poses for playboy. CAN U SAY CRYING WOLF I CAN.

PS. If you are a big girl be proud of what you got and screw the rest.

it amazes me when people speak of things they know nothing about. her bustier is 2 sizes too small??? are you out of your mind? it fits perfectly just the way it should. nothing is hanging over,falling out or rolling up on her. she still has room in that thing!!! you know what i think? you have to be jealous because your body doesn't look that good in a corset. wah wah wah

Don't put it out there on the cover of a magazine wearing something that the rest of us keep for private moments with that special person,and then state that you're tired of people talking about your body-it's a contradiction. If you want to avoid ridicule about something,don't bring it up or put focus on it. As far as how she looks, I know that American culture happens to be obsessed with thinner is better,and as a woman I'm all for being able to eat a cheeseburger/fries without guilt. But how big does a woman get before we stop calling her "curvy" and just admit she's overweight?Her BMI anyone?

i am shocked to see that people think she is overwweight, when you can clearly see she has a slim face, wrists, visible clavicle bones etc. yes, she has a large bust but she is in no way overweight!
as for wanting people to stop talking about her body, it is understandable as people only talking about one aspect of your whole self would be frustrating.
and it isn't like she is the only person who poses in underwear. besides, people orginally started talking about her (gorgeous) figure when she was fully clothed so i doubt any of her clothing choices would make those critical people happy.
