So this is awkward. 'Family Guy' lampooned Sarah Palin's son Trig's Down syndrome during Sunday night's episode. Problem: The cartoon and the former vice presidential nominee both call FOX home.
In the episode, Peter Griffin's teenage son Chris takes Emily, a girl with Down syndrome, on a dinner date. Their interaction is brief, but Emily slips in a blatant Palin reference when asked what her parents do: "My dad's an accountant, and my mom is the former governor of Alaska."
As she is wont to do, Palin took to her Facebook page to respond in a post titled "Fox Hollywood - What a Disappointment." The governor-turned-FOX News star actually turned the reins over to her daughter, Bristol, for the majority of the reaction missive. Bristol called 'Family Guy's' Seth MacFarlane and co. "heartless jerks" in a blistering paragraph:
"Insults directed at [my] youngest brother hurt too much for us to remain silent. People with special needs face challenges that many of us will never confront, and yet they are some of the kindest and most loving people you'll ever meet. As a culture shouldn't we be willing to say that some things just are not funny? If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed."
Sarah Palin called the 'Family Guy' jab "another kick in the gut" (without acknowledging who precisely delivered the previous kick or kicks), adding that Bristol's remarks constitute "a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make." More than 7,500 Facebook fans have "liked" the post. The video in question below:
this will never end till this woman is no longer a threat to politic. sad you can dis this woman bubba an any other past president .yet whith obbama never say a negitive regardles of the screw up .i have never seen any thing like this till now thought its always been pic pic but never a family attac like this .what was bummers reply while back leave MY CHILDREN alone sickens me
Speak English. Palin is the jerk. I have a cousin who is Down Syndrome, he laughed. He's very smart, lives alone and works. He was happy to see that they put this girl in the episode. It didn't hurt his feelings and he USED to think Sara Palin was someone to reach out to. NOT ANYMORE. Now David thinks Palin only hurts his cause because she takes everything so personally instead of looking at the big picture. (his words, not mine)
The fact is that the episode was in bad taste. It shows bigotry. It has nothing to do with Obama!!...Cathy your bigotry has gotten loose. I am not a Palin fan, and I also feel that taking shots at her child is unforgivable, however, your taking shots at someone else, outside of the subject, makes you just as bad as Fox...
You got that right. I hope she prevails and stays right where she is. She scares the chitt out of them and I love it. The "low life" obummerites will lose in the end!
You hit the hammer on the nail head. Palin is a no account "want to be". She has no right getting any publicity and making money for doing so. I could kill Mc Cain for starting this whole fiasco in 08.
Not a Palin fan, but why attack an innocent child's condition? In addition, she is no longer politically viable. She has returned to her roots. Journalism.
Help me out here Cathy because I'm having trouble following your syntax, spelling, and persuasion. It seems that you're saying people haven't been allowed to attack Obama.
If that's what you're saying I have to ask, how's the weather on you planet?
I think the part you didn't notice was the downs syndrome girl was shown to be a normal person just a little slow. She wasn't drooling or all Corky/Disney safe, stupid and nice. She had a real personality. This is helpful, not insulting. Lighten up people.
PS; I think it is nice that Cathy, with special needs, is able to try and write a post on this forum. It was almost coherent. A little help from your nurse on spelling isn't cheating.
Apparently none of you watch family guy. They never really made fun of Down syndrome itself, in fact they played it pretty cool. This show has done much worse, such as singing songs about AIDS.
The fact is, Palin needs to accept things such as this if she is going to choose to keep her and her family in the public spotlight. These things happen to EVERY well known figure. Accept it or go away, that's her choice.
What??? Do you speak any known languages at all? English? Spanish? Pig Latin? Klingon? Anything? If you have a point you think is worth making, maybe you should try to make it using words and sentences so other people can appreciate it.
That is just horrible that Fox would even allowed this particular episode to air. This particular writer must be very desperate for laughs that he would stoop so low as to even think about this. People should not just stand by and let these inexcusable insults continue on, we need to do something to show this big J that he is wrong. Boycott Family Guy, we all have a voice if we act on it.
I agree! If you can't stick to good old entertainment instead of wearing you politics on your sleeve then as for my houshold we will ban and boycot all of Fox Hollywood shows indefinately!!!!
You're calling for the boycott of one of my Neice's FAVORITE shows (she's Downs by the way!!!) and was absolutely THRILLED that there was a Downs character like herself on it!!! So YOU want to TAKE AWAY that JOY, that acceptance, That THRILL and CRUSH a Down's person's happiness, STOP her from saying "Hey, look! She's just like ME, how cool is that?!" YOU want to TAKE THAT AWAY....so your political candidate (or your own political agenda) can have HER perception accepted as the norm...YOU'RE A TERRIBLE PERSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Or you just don't THINK!
Lets not just boycott Family Guy. Lets boycott Fox and all its associated networks inlcuding Fox News. This will have the added benefit of making us all more intelligent
What was the insult? The boy liked her, thought she was attractive wanted to date her, but she turned out bossy and demanding. She was treated on the show like anyone else...no special treatment. They were very careful to that the character not be treated any different than any other difficult person. The dig they got in was to Palin not those to Down's Syndrome. Chris thought the girl hot, beautiful and wonderful. No insult there.
But like you said on Fox News Sunday last week Sarah: "It was alright for Rush Limbaugh to use the word "retard"....Of course, that was before you admonished him for using that same word the day before....Make up your mind Sarah, if you can........
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

Of course it's tasteless. Have you ever watched this show?
Tastelessness is their touchstone. That's kinda what makes it funny. Nobody is safe.
What the HELL did you just try to say????
Tell Palin Rush Limbaugh is the real creator of Family Guy and she will shut her mouth.
