Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are ready to make their relationship official with a wedding, and lucky old me has exclusive details about what to expect. Will it be a lavish, champagne-and-caviar boasting superparty worthy of its own MTV special? Or is Nicole going for simple and elegant? You'll find out after the jump plus details on whether 'Celebrity Apprentice' is fixed!Nicole Richie Wedding Scoop
If you are hoping for an over-the-top platinum wedding when Nicole Richie and Joel Madden tie the knot this summer, you should think again. Friends of the couple tell me to expect a simple classic ceremony -- with no Paris Hilton in sight.
"Nicole wants to keep the ceremony to close friends and family. It will be traditional with a simple white dress and very private," a Richie pal tells me. "Both parents want their two beautiful children -- daughter Harlow (2) and son Sparrow (5 months) -- to be involved in the service where Nicole's famous father Lionel Richie will give her away. However, old BFF Paris Hilton will not be a bridesmaid."
Richie and Madden, who have been dating since December 2006, are said to have decided it was time to say "I do" following the tragic death of Nicole's childhood friend, Casey Johnson. "The awful event made Nicole realize how happy she was being a mother and how happy she will be to finally call herself a wife," a glowing friend told me.
See, friends: Sometimes tragedy can lead to beautiful things.
Is 'Celebrity Apprentice' Rigged?
Are the rumors about 'Celebrity Apprentice' being fixed true? Absolutely not, an NBC source tells me, although that doesn't mean several celebrities haven't tried.
"You would be shocked at how many star's producers invited to be part of the cast came back with a whole bunch of demands, including hair and makeup requirements and even what sort of flowers they needed in their dressing rooms," laughed one producer. "One certain D-list personality who was divorced from an A-list musician overestimated her level of star power so much that she told Mr. Trump she would need to guaranteed to win if she agreed to participate!"
Needless to say, she never got cast because we all know that the biggest 'Apprentice' star is already guaranteed to make it to the final episode. That would be Mr. Trump and his impossibly glorious hair.
'Real Housewives' Starlet Denied
Note to you meaty 'Jersey Shore' kids: Enjoy the 15 minutes while they last. Last week, 'Real Housewives of New York' members Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen were denied tickets to 'Project Runway' winner Christin Siriano's fashion show. Still, that didn't stop them from crashing his after-party at Matt Levine's super-hot club, The Eldridge.
"They pushed their way through a mob at people and tried to walk right into the club before being stopped by a doorman who clearly doesn't watch the show," an observer told me.
Twenty minutes later, they did get in. Still, all the 'Real Housewives' now need to know that their 15 minutes are ticking away.

get a hobby. nobody else gives a s hit.
She became a lovely woman and should be proud of herself. I think Joel is a good influence for her.
Why? What talents does she have? And who in the hell would even know her if Lionel Richie wasn't her pappy?
I am sure Paris Hilton will be there. They were best friends for a long time, and yes relationships between friends does change or evolve, but I think both are mature enough to spend some time together for this lovely occasion.

@ Willamenia: Yea, I think they said that so that there won't be a ridiculous hoopla with the media. Possibly, Paris is going to sneak into the ceremony and be escorted out quietly... its probably planned that way to ensure that Nicole and Joel have a private, quiet ceremony.
Who cares!
