Snooki grew up in an Italian American family. She's aware of what "Guido/Guidette" mean. Just because she CHOOSES to act like one doesn't negate the culture she was raised in.

Red white and HUE- I don't think GM really meant it that way. I think he/she meant more along the lines of she was raised by an Italian family and so she identifies with Italians. S/he also said that the term Guido is associated with behavior and not ethnicity. Though, being one myself (Italian-American that is), I do agree with you that this is not how Italian-American females are raised in any way. We are taught to be proud of our heritage and smart young women. We are taught to respect ourselves. This is a cross-cultural upbringing and Italians are no different.

well the fact remains this. She is self proclaimed as 'The Ultimate Guidette'. Meanwhile, Guido/Guidette is a slang term for a working class or lower class urban Italian American. So posing as one and acting as she does I can see how legitment italians may take offense. Most have strongly respected families and ideals. 'Snooki' however has none of that, yet claims to be the ultimate one? Yeah her attempt at a label is pethetic and shouldnt be lieing about her status. But then shes a woman..do you expect any less from the worst?

Using the f word only reinforces both her lack of vocabulary as well as class. She is in insult to our Italian culture. Whether she is adopted or not, Italians offer more to society than some people realize. We are NOT all mafia, guidos, guidettes or peasants. Most of us are intelligent, artistic and talented, family-oriented, kind, generous and caring individuals. These adjectives may not fit EVERYONE, however, it is the over generalization that every nationality can be judged by - whether or not you agree is of no consequence, but happens stand.
