Elton John: Jesus Was 'Gay' and Super-intelligent

Elton John has never been one to hold back his feelings. This time, he's ruffling a few feathers among Christians.

"I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don't know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East -- you're as good as dead," John tells PARADE.

About his early mistakes in love: "I'd always choose someone younger. I wanted to smother them with love. I'd take them around the world, try to educate them. One after another they got a Cartier watch, a Versace outfit, maybe a sports car. They didn't have jobs. They were reliant on me. I did this repeatedly. In six months they were bored and hated my guts because I'd taken their lives and self-worth away. I hadn't intended to."

On life with his current partner David: "I was attracted to David immediately. He was very well dressed, very shy. The next night we had dinner. After it, we consummated our relationship. We fell in love very quickly... Every Saturday for 16 years, we've sent each other a card, no matter where we are in the world, to say how much we love each other... We've never been jealous. We talk about the sexual side of things, things that normally would have frightened me before."

On his drug use: "For some people a gram of cocaine can last a month. Not me. I have to do the lot, and then I want more. At the end of the day, all it led to was heartache."

Why he hates fame: "Princess Diana, Gianni Versace, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, all dead. Two of them shot outside their houses. None of this would have happened if they hadn't been famous. Fame attracts lunatics. I never had a bodyguard, ever, until Gianni died. I don't like celebrity anymore."

Most likely Jesus was bi-sexual, not gay, and loved everyone. There are reports that he had children with Mary M. Glad that EJ can talk openly and intelligently about his opinions — we need more open discussions like this. Christians need to stop defending their opinions because of other people's opinions. Who cares if Jesus was gay or not. Jesus was Jesus and taught people not to kill each other just because they were of a different tribe. Why would his sexual orientation make any difference if you follow his principles of love — unless you are not following his teachings and are not loving and caring about people of certain sexual orientations and want to bash them by distancing your idea of Jesus from a particular sexual orientation.

And personally, if Jesus WAS gay, it wouldn't surprise me, and it also wouldn't matter, because it would shut up all of the mentally disfigured and discriminatory "christians." Christianity is all about love and acceptance.... unless... you're... gay? Give me a break.

Why is it that concrete Christians get so bitter over what the biggest sinners (in their eyes) have to say. What the hell do you care what a 'gay' man says? If he is such a sinner, how can what he says effect your faith? What a bunch of sshhit. I am straight and you disgust me!
