Pete Wentz Talks Guyliner and 'Jersey Shore'

On Tuesday night, Pete Wentz showed off his Clandestine Industries streetwear line at New York Fashion Week. Before the show, Wentz talked shop with Elle and revealed his affection for Snooki, Pauly D. and the rest of our friends from the 'Jersey Shore.'

Asked if his wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, has a say in what he wears, the Fall Out Boy bassist deadpaned, "If I go out with her, I consider myself a walking purse. So I just try to match her outfit. But she'll tell me when I look too stupid."

Wentz is famous for making "guyliner" mainstream, so the fashion mag couldn't help but ask whether his 1-year-old son Bronx would be rocking the trend any time soon. "Whatever he does, I'll support him," Wentz said. "I'm sure he'll be into math or football or something I don't know anything about and I'll have to learn a lot about it."

And like everyone else, Wentz has found himself swept up in the lives of everyones favorite (faux?) guidos and guidettes. "The show's so organic, like, the first time humans have made contact with this species, and it's amazing," he said of 'Jersey Shore.' "They're bleeding authenticity. You won't see that next season because they're celebrities now."

Wentz believes Pauly D. is the show's most stylish cast member -- but for reasons that have nothing to do with clothes. "When he went underwater, and his hair stayed the same exact way, that was mind-blowing! And I love GTL [gym, tan, laundry] -- I almost want to start the practice."

Umm...David Bowie and Freddie Mercury made guyliner mainstream...not Pete. He only wishes that he was as innovative as those two.
