Tiger's Wife Debates Going to His Press Conference

With word that Tiger Woods is set to hold a press conference on Friday, marking his first public appearance since he drove into a tree and in turn exposed his infidelity, what will his wife Elin be doing? According to my sources, there's a very strong chance she won't be by his side. Details on that, plus Mayer-Aniston scoop after the jump!

Elin Wants No Part of Press Conference

Sources close to Tiger Woods tell me his handlers are hoping that his wife Elin will be present Friday at his press event to announce when the troubled golfer will be returning to the game. Unfortunately, she hasn't said yes yet.

"It's hard enough for her to try and make this marriage work after what he did to her and their children," an insider tells me. "The last thing she wants to do right now is stand next to him in front of him and the world's press. What message is she sending to her daughter and women and girls around the world."

It seems to me that poor Elin cant win. If she isn't present, her absence speaks volumes, but if she does attend, that isn't the message any woman wants to send (even though Kobe Bryant's wife sat beside him in his press conference ... with a brand new apology diamond on her finger).

Whatever you choose to do, Elin, I hope we all remember you have done nothing wrong and can work things out so that the kids are OK.

Will John Mayer Reveal Why Jen and Brad Really Split?

A gal who thought she was dating John Mayer (until he appeared on the cover of InTouch with Jennifer Aniston) back in 2008 tells me that the crooner "has this incredible power of getting you to reveal everything." So, with him being the squeeze of Jennifer Aniston for a while, was he able to get all of the dirt about her divorce from Brad Pitt?

"He lets you talk and talk, gently asking intimate questions until you have told him stuff you wouldn't tell anyone. I bet he knows everything about what really happened between Jen and Brad," my source says.

And it seems it's not just Jennifer who is worried about intimate secrets she revealed to Mayer. His other ex, Jennifer Love Hewitt, is also worried about what Mayer might say about her wonderland body.

"JLH is extremely concerned about what attention-seeking John might say next. He has proven he can't keep anything secret. She has never forgiven him for using their relationship with her back in 2006 in his failed bid to be a stand up comedian."

It looks like no one is laughing now. Thankfully for Jen, it seems as if John is keeping his mouth shut for a while following his Playboy disaster.

'SNL' Cast Join in Push for Betty White

Although the talented cast of 'SNL' has nothing to do with booking the celebrity host each week -- a decision left entirely to 'SNL' creator and Executive Producer, Lorne Michaels -- it can't hurt that they are thrilled with the recent push about Betty White hosting the show.

"Are you kidding me? It would be amazing," said one insider. "The skits on the 'Golden Girls' would be amazing, plus I hear Betty does a brilliant Barbara Bush impersonation."

Please 'SNL,' listen to your cast and get this lady booked before we have to suffer through another January Jones again. Or just have Jon Hamm on every week.

Congratulations to my friend Joy Behar, who's often beating the boys at 9 PM with her brilliant show on Headline News.

Joy has worked hard to get where she is, even after many told her she would never have her own show. She has proved them all wrong. If you're not already watching, give it a try. Her program examines the watercooler issues that Americans are talking about every day, with topics ranging from pop culture to politics and everything in between.

She also has the best guests ... including the occasional appearance by (wait for it) me!

Exactly. Beating the boys indeed. Must be dead people TV. And people wonder why they can't believe anything they hear, read or see anymore. These so-called press people are full of nothing but lies and personal bias.

How's this: She'd be saying that ANYONE can made mistakes, and forgiveness is a very powerful tool...and she cares enough about her husband and their family to try to work through the problems they have....
OR she could file for divorce, take him for half of everything he owns..what kind of message would THAT be sending?

Surely Elin Woods must know that she needs to detach from Tiger's mess and his attempts to clean it up. This press conference is about his career, not hers. Her presence in this situation makes no sense at all. He's not announcing his candidacy for political office. If he makes a public appearance for some other reason, such as a humanitarian or family cause, then she would be expected to stand beside him as part of a united effort. Hopefully, if he is indeed in a recovery program, his wife is in some sort of a supporting program for spouses of similar addicts. This is where she will learn how to live with a recovering addict as well as learn how to detach (with love) from his addiction issues. In such a program she will learn how to live in such a way that will prevent her from being “infected” by his negative issues. Speaking of being infected, I hope she hasn’t literally been infected by any STD from him. Hmm, that’s a whole other subject and indeed a private matter. She should keep her body safe from his contamination, unless he produces a daily result of an STD blood test and THEN she should make sure the test has been done honestly. Wow. Talk about a difficult future.

Elin Woods wouldn't tell a soul that she is "considering" attending Tiger's meeting tomorrow. That has already been decided. It is just the tabloids guessing. Plus Elin doesn't have any friend she would tell this kind of thing who would be a " source". Tabs need to stop fabricating stuff, just to write a story. Elin is more private than Tiger, if that is possible. Every sentence that has been written about her is all guesswork.

Elin cannot take Tiger for half of anything, except half of the children. Tiger will stick by that prenup until the rivers run dry. Tiger worked hard for his money and he doesn't part with it easily. This is not up to Elin. Infidelity does not increase your prenup payout.

Idiot, gullible, overly emotional women. I'll bet ol' John Mayer couldn't get me to reveal anything to him that I didn't already want him to know. That clown can sit there and believe he has magical powers of persuasion if she chooses, but you can bet that the scenario she revealed with her words says a lot more about her than it does him. I agree with Holly Robinson Peete who basically said he needs to drop the "my immaturity makes me cooler somehow" routine and grow up a bit more. I'll take that thought a step further and say that Mayer strikes me as a generally intelligent guy who often prefers to portray himself as a moron and I've never understood why certain people will purposely do that as if brains are to be avoided at all costs, but to each his own I suppose.

Look what Tiger Woods did is between him and his wife! No matter what he does or doesn't do really does not matter. People have their own opinions and will just think how they will.Tiger is an excellent golfer and thats the bottom line as far as golf goes! The rest of it is up to him and Elin,period!!!! The pres of the US(clinton) did awful crap and he did not get this much attention. It sells papers and thats all they care about,if he was doing something good they prob would give him a second ot third page. Leave the guy alone with the golfing,man he is a great golfer and if my son were to play I would want him to be a TIGER WOODS!!!!!
