Tiger Woods held a press conference today to apologize to his wife and fans for the many extramarital affairs that forced him into treatment for sex addiction and caused many sponsors to drop him."Simply and directly, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engaged in," he said. "I was unfaithful, I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable and I am the only person to blame."
Tiger directed much of his statement to his wife, Elin Nordegren, and his children. "I owe it to my family to become a better person."

OK he did what he did but I can't believe he is sorry , I think he is sorry he was caught and it is snowballing on him and hurting his family. If his wife leaves him he will be right back at it. It is hard to say no when women throw themselves at you. As a man I can tell you it is a huge ego boost to be wanted by nice looking women, it is all the attention little boys never got growing up.

You forgot the fame and money...what Bimbo low life wouldn't want her 15 min. of fame?
My opinion - I don't think he's sorry. I think he probably liked the way things were going back then.
Press Conference?? This was NO press conference. The Press was not invited and there was NO conference..It was just Tiger giving a statement..Golfer Jack Nichlaus said it BEST. "This is America and WE as Americans have learned to forgive"...What Tiger did, Tiger alone has to deal with now..The MEDIA is just looking to capitalize on this..Negative media sells..The next time Tiger takes to the golf course and hits one dead center down the fairway, many will forgive him if they haven't already...Press Conference???? I think NOT!!!
i think a lot of this goes on in golf but we only hear of it when it affects the highest paid and best player.remember curtis strange, greg norman, john daly, colin montgomery i am sure they fooled around on their wifes before marriage to another
I have always admired Tiger, and was one of those who were very disappointed when I learn of his transgressions. I believe he was sincere, and I certainly forgive him. As he said whether or not he and Elin can get through this and she can forgive him remains to be seen. I am a 67 year old female who made plenty of mistakes in my youth. And I know for certain that a person can learn from mistakes and make changes in one's life and lifestyle. I wish Tiger the best, and would wish that everyone can give him another chance to prove himself.

Brenda. im a 73 year old man and I admit making mistakes along my journey through life BUT lessons learned from mistakes are ALL a part of life. Lets ALL hope tiger learned a valuable lesson here. Its really NOT what you did yesterday that counts , its what you do today and tomorrow. Im Glad you had a good life .
I agree with you Brenda...we all have "stuff" in our closets and are not perfect. Let he who has known no sin judge him. I admire the courage it had to take to admit all he did. Just sorry he took so long. But, now is the time to forgive and move forward and "watch for the improvement."
Brenda, you such a darling for such attitude and candid advice. You spoke my heart. You have thought like a good woman and a loving mother. We all should know that human beings are bound to make mistakes, but your ability to recognise them and make amendments is sure better of. Lets have a heart of forgiveness and see how beautiful we make the world.
brenda i hate to disagree with you but how do you make 19 mistakes this man made 19 deision to keep playing around and upset that he got caught one mistake i could under stand but 19 please. have a good day
LOL...It's hilarious that you forgive him. You have nothing to forgive him for. Who the man bones is his business, it is not something that should be put on MSNBC or ESPN. The fact that this was so front page is a disgrace. Call me when he kills somebody, and then I'll turn on the news. I think cheating is one of the lowest things a human being could do in general, I've certainly never done it...but it's not my business if another man or woman does.
Brenda, I agree with you...I wish people would stop being so judgmental and stay out of it...The media makes it worse, this sort of thing happens everyday to everyday people and we never hear of it....move on already!!!!
how right u r. who r we 2 judge?
hey don't you have better thing to wright about this is beetween him and his family . he dose not need our approval the man has so much money he could buy his own country and tell the press to kiss off!!! IF i was him I would

No one knows what is going through Elin's mind or what goes on in their home, whether or not she goes back to him is her's and Tiger's business. Let it go people so that their children can have a happy childhood. Tiger and Elin are adults and will make their own choices, these kids are innocent and they will be the ones to suffer if you people don't just leave them the hell alone.

YOU KNOW IF THIS HAD BEEN ANYONE OF THE STREET NO ONE WOULD HAVE HEARD A THING ABOUT IT. HE IS FAMOUS AND LOOK OUT WORLD LETS TOTALLY RUINE HIM. THE MAN AND HIS FAMILY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT COUNT LEAVE THEM ALONE. I READ THIS TODAY AND IT REALLY FITS HERE " GIVE YOURSELF A FRESH START. SURE , YOU MAY HAVE MADE A MISTAKE OR TWO; WHO HASN'T? AND MOST OF US WISH WE'D DONE SOMETHING DIFFERENTLY. BUT THAT'S ALL BEHIND YOU NOW. REGRETS ONLY WEIGH US DOWN, SO WHY TAKE THEM WITH YOU? INSTEAD, LET HOPE LIFT YOU UP AS YOU STEP FORWARD. YOUR BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL FUTURE BEGINS RIGHT NOW!" SO NOW LET US ALL LET HIM PUT THE PAST BEHIND AND BEGIN A NEW FUTURE WITH HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN GOD WILLING .
You know, so many people are saying it's okay, that it's between him and the wife, let it go, he's a great guy etc. Here's the deal. He is paid tons of money to be a spokesperson, role model and icon, so it is right to expect a lot from him. He has given nothing in this regard. He is so crude on the golf course, live cameras and mikes cannot follow him for fear of FCC fines. He is foul and undisciplined. For this kind of cash, people can expect the world from him, so unless he quits and gives it all back, rock on critics.
