Tiger Woods held a press conference today to apologize to his wife and fans for the many extramarital affairs that forced him into treatment for sex addiction and caused many sponsors to drop him."Simply and directly, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engaged in," he said. "I was unfaithful, I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable and I am the only person to blame."
Tiger directed much of his statement to his wife, Elin Nordegren, and his children. "I owe it to my family to become a better person."
What are your thoughts on his apology? HollywoodLife.com and PopEater have teamed up to find out what you think about Tiger's words. Voice your opinion in the polls below.

I agree with Jim 100%- He is paid to be a role model and to actout like he does and treat fans and people in general the way he does-why do we let him get away with with this behaviour?Because he can hit a golf ball-pure BS.The detrackers who say he owes the public nothing are wrong because of all the luxuries he is afforded by us-he owes us everything yet spits in our faces-What an arrogant ass!
Let's get it straight. He does not get paid to be a good person. That is between him and whatever belief system he follows (Christianity, Buddhism, atheist, etc.) What he get paid for is being a great golfer. Personal life, work life. Everyone that has a job has both. Not once did he say buy my golf club because I am a faithful husband. He said buy my golf clubs because I am a great golfer. There was no product that he endorsed that had any stipulations about fidelity. That is totally between he and his wife.
Jim, buddy, you are dead on. Sh69*@ or whatever, you're such an idiot. Woods is a paid role model for kids. The advertising idea was to use his success to bring kids of all colors to the courses and revive a sport that was dying. He's not selling golf clubs, he's selling an image. For those of you out there that don't get that, they're not selling to YOU. It's kind of like, "you have to be this tall to ride" if you know what I mean. Not everyone qualifies to receive the message.
I did not know that Tiger was paid to be a role model. LOL Here is a thought; get over it!
He doesn't owe anything to anyone! He plays golf and is the best at the sport. If folks want to pay him because HE IS THE BEST... then so be it, but he doesn't owe anything to anyone!!!
Don't care, it's not my life it's between Tiger and ELIN end of story

Right there, perfect example. I rest my case. You and your pals are circling the drain joevet. I doubt if you even know how cool this place used to be, do you?
Bravo joevet. He isn't being paid satisfy people's need for role models... I never understood, the need fo children to look up to other imperfect humans... Except their own parents or grandparents. Tiger owes Elin and his family his best. He worked for his money and fame. He doesn't owe you whining, nosey, people the time of day. Oh and Mark McQuire started his new job, as batting coach for the Cardinals... He took the Fifth and finally admitted he used steroids... My, I know he is glad, the media, isn't bothering him much, at this time... I wonder how many of those Golf reporters have perfect lives?
Right or wrong, man YOU are crayon stupid Sid! Go get your GED or something.

Why does there have to be an excuse or medical reason i.e - Sex Addiction for everything - Maybe He's just a cheater. The only thing he is sorry for is... HE GOT CAUGHT!!!!

He sure is fooling a lot of people. Don't believe a word he said
I will accept Tiger Woods apology...all of us make mistakes...his private life is his business..and the apologies should be with his family...how about the women that had affairs with him,???? can they be classified as ladies..?? they are the trash of our society...but now, they could make millions writting a book...!!!! heroes right..???

You know Al, I don't really think he was apologizing to you, so you can probably rest easy.
YA SURE, LIKE YOU WOULD TAKE YOUR SPOUSE BACK THIS EASY IF IT HAPPENED TO YOU, THINK AHEAD BEFORE YOU BLAST OUT NONSENSE
Elin should divorce his sorry ass take the kids and find a man who will treat her with the respect she deserves. My Father taught me at a young age real men do not cheat on their wifes. If she didn't hit him she sure had a right to. His Father must be rolling over in his grave

Sorry, Tim, but by all accounts, Tiger more than likely learned some of this behavior from Earl Woods...
I think Tiger was sincere but time will tell. I think the press
wants to know everything about everyone so they can sell their
interviews. Isn't anything sacred anymore, does the entire
population need to know every intimate detail about a public
figure. Go find something else to write about. I'm tired of
hearing when is he going to return to golf - I say when he's
ready he'll return. He's not ready and will not predict when
he will be. I miss seeing him play too. He needs to mend his
personal life first.

As a man, I know what he did was wrong but it doesn't make me sick or hate him. I know he's the best golfer I've ever seen and it's hard to watch golf if he's not in the field. I really don't care what he does on his own time nor do I think it's anybodies business. If I decide to cheat on my wife I don't think I have to answer to anybody but my wife and family not the media. Of course I don't have his maoney either but I don't think that should matter. It's personal and should stay thay way. Colleges need to take a new direction on journilism. They need to learn how to respect peoples privacy. I don't need to see reporters asking people in mourning how they feel about the loss of a loved one or how did you feel when he cheated on you?

i certainly agree that it is certainly between Tiger and Elin; however, he has chosen to be a public person with all the sponsorships, appearances, etc. that it does in some way involve other people who cared about him and looked up to him. The only thing that I keep thinking is that if it had been 1 or possibly 2 women he had affairs with, Elin might consider staying, but several women? C'mon, he can never be trusted again. I do, indeed, feel very sorry for their children whose privacy is being invaded. No one ever thinks about the consequences of their actions until they get caught!
