Tiger Woods held a press conference today to apologize to his wife and fans for the many extramarital affairs that forced him into treatment for sex addiction and caused many sponsors to drop him.

"Simply and directly, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engaged in," he said. "I was unfaithful, I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable and I am the only person to blame."

Tiger directed much of his statement to his wife, Elin Nordegren, and his children. "I owe it to my family to become a better person."

Actually, I don't know why it is the publics business at all. It should and hopefully will remain between he and his wife.

His apology just fine. Listen, all over the country there is at least 50% of men and women cheating on their mate all over.
Politicians,sports figures, movie celebs making loads money, in the public eye ..lose totally any sense of self and perhaps any ethics they may have had at one time. This unfortunately is NOT unusual at all.

I want to see Tiger back on the golf course soon as he can. I hope he and wife can work on their family and get together. IF for any reason he is to end up single, I hope he can stop this behavior for sake of himself and his children. It only leads to a very lonely life soon. F...ing different people constantly is a "real short fix" and leaves you more lonely each time.

I don't think what he did is unusual for his celebrity, so don't know why it is a big deal. Sad but true. I wish the best for him to heal and his wife to heal..you can forgive, but you do not forget. His advertisers should stay with him and know that he will be okay and hopefully remain private.

I cannot find this story on any other forum. Is it because Tiger's speaking today?
It seems that we have five, or several Foreign Languages Specialists, suspected of attempting to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson, our largest Army/Military training facility, while 80 percent of the Nation is critiquing Tiger's sex life.

Why do we care about Tiger Woods. Does anyone really know why anyone outside of his family and close friends care about his personal life. Why would he feel he needs to go on national TV and talk about his private life. Yes, he is famous, but if every time someone famous had to apologize for moral mis-steps there would be no time on TV for anything else. What he did was wrong, but of no importance to anyone but his family. Maybe we should stop putting famous people up on a pedestal and making them the object of hero worship. They are just people. If we were to teach our children to really look at those that should be important in their life as heroes it would be much better. Maybe Grandpa who was in Vietnam or who started with nothing and built a business and a home. Or Grandma who worked to put her children thru college and never did have enough money for that trip of her dreams would be a better object of hero worship. Those we see everyday and that touch our lives in so many ways are the real heroes to us or at least should be, not some guy who can play golf or someone who acts in a movie. Think about those in your family and close friends and what they have done for you in little and sometimes large ways. Those are the people that matter....those are your heroes.

Tiger clearly has a big problem. He cannot be faithful to one partner. I believe after all is said and done he will continue to have several partners!

I think it is a sad, sad world we live in when a man is forced to televise an apology that should be between his family, business partners and sponsors. I do believe that he was sincere but do not believe that he owed it to the world to have his apology aired on television (a special report, really?). I feel he was forced to handle a private matter this way because his wife and children were being targeted and their privacy and safety were threatened. There is One who Tiger will stand before in judgement and that is the only opinion that matters here. For those who set him up as an idol to their children, you should spend more time teaching your children that there is only One to idolize (whomever your religion dictates) and show them that as imperfect as humans are, there can be forgiveness. I pray for Tiger and all those who are struggling with their demons.

I believe he has the right to get the help he needs without all the voltures(media)on his back. What he did has been done by more than 80% of those wanting to tare him down. He is a person just like the rest of us and we sin and then we ask for forgiveness. Those that said h they did not think he ment what he said today need to get a life. The people in the media dont have a life to live but through other people. Get Real! You and I dont have to forgive him his wife and his god has to he has asked and now it is time for us all to move on to something more inportant! The media need to report on something good.

If Elin forgives him shes a bigger woman than I am. Im so sick of hearing about Tyger having sex. I could forgive one mistake; not 19 of them. Then if you have money you can go to "sex therpy". Give me a break. I dont forgive or not forgive him. I do however think he would still be unfaithful had he not gotten busted. Also no amount of money in this world should weigh in on any decision as to weather she stays or goes. I think Elin is smarter than that....

Do you honestly believe he slept with all of those women. I believe a lot of those women were lying through their teeth. Don't get me wrong he cheated big time. I just don't think he cheated with everyone of them.
