Police and worried loved ones are searching for actor Andrew Koenig, best known for playing "Boner" on 'Growing Pains,' who went missing in Vancouver a week ago.
Koenig, 42, was last seen on Feb. 14 and missed his flight out of the Olympic host city two days later, according to a statement from TV host Dave Holmes on MaximumFun.org. Authorities are searching for the actor, who has recently been working as a camera operator on the comedy podcast, 'Never Not Funny.'
Andrew's father is Walter Koenig, who played Chekov in the 'Star Trek' series and films. The elder Koenig told PEOPLE he received a note from Andrew on February 16, but it did nothing to alleviate his concerns.
"He sounded despondent," said Walter. "Nobody has seen this [note] but my wife and I."
According to TMZ, Walter and Andrew's mother Judy described their son as "suffering from depression" and "not doing good" in the days before he disappeared. Regarding the depression that may have prompted his son's disappearance, Walter told PEOPLE, "I think it's something that has been a part of his makeup for a long time. There's no single trauma. There's no episode. There's nothing of that nature."
"He went to visit some friends in Toronto and after there, he went to Vancouver," explained his father. "It's a place where he felt very comfortable. He lived there for a few years."
While in Vancouver, he was staying with burlesque artist Jenny Magenta, who took to Facebook on Friday to ask for help in finding Koenig. Numerous celebrity friends have used social media to aid the search, including Sarah Silverman, Alyssa Milano and Felica Day. Comedian Joel McHale wrote, "No joke, here. Soup family friend Andrew Koenig missing in Vancouver."
One-time colleague Lance Miccio told TMZ he contacted Koenig about a possible project two weeks ago but Koening announced that he was "not going to work anymore."
Andrew's most recent role was 2008's 'InAlienable,' written and directed by his dad. For four years, Koenig played Mike Seaver's affable best friend Richard "Boner" Stabone on 'Growing Pains.' He was written off the show in 1989 when "Boner" signed up for the Marine Corps. Watch a clip from that episode:
Anyone with knowledge of Koenig's whereabouts is being asked to contact Det. Raymond Payette of the Vancouver PD at 604-717-2534.
I happen to know Andrew Keonig. He is a very good guy - quiet, humble, funny, hard-working. I watched him perform in an improv show called "Pop!" Improv is about team-work, cooperation, support - and he is one of the best. Mentioning his "celebrity" status and performing history might draw attention to this situation, but what's important here is that he is a good guy, he's missing, and those who care about him hope that someone reading about him (maybe someone attending the Olympics, or someone living near Vancouver) may know something now or hear something in the future that could be of help.
Phil- he has the scene up on his web site of him getting arrested at the Rose Bowl parade because he was carrying a sign (in the middle) of the parade asking people to boycott the Olympics. As he went missing during the Olympics, in Vancouver it stands to reason that these two things are related. I assume someone has pointed out the video of him at the Rose Bowl to the Vancouver police investigating this? Good Luck. He sounds like a good guy.
Don't think Tiger owes any one an apology Except Elin. Hope those girl friends don't get any money from him. They all knew he was married. They are just as bad as he. This from the voice of experience. I was cheated on with each of my six pregnancies. Finaly left after 20years. I actually thanked the last one for taking him off my hands.
J B ..... shut the F*CK up you idiot, this story has nothing to do with Tiger Woods. Maybe you should lay off the drugs and think before you say anything
Tiger owes no one an apology except Elin. He's not the first man to cheat and won't be the last . Most of the wommen I know have been through it. The other women who cheated with him are as guilty as he. They knew he was married. Serves them right.
For its time, Growing Pain was amusing. Boner was actually a good sidekick character.
Now...how would you like it if someone said that about your mother, sister, or if you are older, son or daughter.
If you act like you are okay with making those statements, then you are either hiding behind your words because it is a goof to make fun of someone's potential tragedy, which makes you pathetic.
I imagine if you had a missing family member or a dead family member and someone walked up to you and said something funny about it--which I hope never happens to you, you would be feeling differently than how you present yourself on here.. I am sure you wouldn't say "I hope people make jokes and laugh when I die. I hate sad funerals."
He looks like a decent person. Someone who works. He is someones son, someones brother, someones friend. I hope they find him safe. His people deserve that.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

Sorry, but Rosie's a lesbian. She wouldn't be caught dead eating a Boner.
