Lindsay Lohan 'Hit Rock Bottom' Because of Dad

In a revealing interview with British tabloid
The Sun, Lindsay Lohan opens up about her troubled life.
"When my father was going public, that's when I hit rock bottom. I abused substances too much and it wasn't the answer to my problems. People need to know that," she says of the time in 2007 when Michael Lohan started talking to the press about his daughter's problems.
"I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances. Now, I'm in a place where I don't need to use anything and I can feel emotions because I choose to," she adds.
The actress hopes others can learn from her travails. "Mind-altering substances are so dangerous. If I can teach others, especially teens, by sharing my experiences, then that's what I will continue to do."
She speaks candidly about her cocaine use. "It's not something I ever want to do again. It made me feel like s***. It became uninteresting to me. I'm hyper anyway and I have that kind of personality, so I don't need something like that."
But she claims much of the scrutiny of her partying is unwarranted. "The thing is, at the times I was going out a lot and being seen everywhere, I would have been in college."

Another Hollywood spoiled brat blaming anyone but themselves for their drug or alcohol problem. Noone forced Lindsay to drink or do the drugs. She made the ultimate decision to abuse alcohol and illegal drug. Quit blaming others and try being accountable for your own actions Lindsay.

No, Lindsay. You hit rock bottom because you made that choice. And most of us don't care. Now grow up.

If I am reading this interview right it sounds like she is telling us she does know what the problem is and it is her. All she is saying about her Dad is that he sparked more usage of drugs at that time. I am going to give her the props on finally, maybe just finally she can get her sh-t together.

OMG - they are quoting something written in The Sun newspaper (and that's a liberal term when talking about that rag), The Sun - home of the half naked page 3 girl, is something akin to the freaking Enquirer - you don't read this tabloid for the news, so if you believe anything you read in it, good luck to you and I have a bridge I'd like to sell you!

This isn't just a problem of the "rich and famous". Many of our young people think that drugs and alcohol are the answer to their perceived problems or their need to fit in with our society's perceptions of what is "cool". Kids, be sober and realize that life isn't always fair, and you get what you earn through hard work and personal accountability....don't blame others for your bad decisions!

Poor lindsey,, all of her failures have been because of her dad. How old do we have to be, before we start putting blame where it belongs?

I feel sorry for her. Pushed into the spotlight by loser parents and then trying to fit in a world few can survive. We need to cut her a break.

Nice voice of reason. People are way too judgemental!
