'Dancing' Star Finds Himself in Britain's Version of Tiger Woods Scandal

In case you don't follow British gossip, there's a massive infidelity scandal going on between a sports superstar and his drop-dead gorgeous wife ... sound familiar? Soccer (err, football) superstar Ashley Cole and his pop star wife Cheryl are going through a nasty time right now after she found racy texts on Ashley's phone (again ... sound familiar?), and other reports claim he was sleeping with the woman he was texting -- and possibly many others. (cough cough Tiger Woods)

So while it's juicy and salacious, just how does this affect us in the United States? Well, it didn't really -- hey, we've got our own pants-dropping sports stars, thank you very much -- until a new man emerged in the life of Cheryl Cole: None other than 'Dancing With the Stars' blondie Derek Hough.

Hough was seen exiting Cole's Los Angeles hotel in the wee hours of the morning with dog in tow, sending the media into a speculation frenzy. Cole is in the U.S. allegedly shopping for houses, as her U.K. marital house is no longer a place she wants to live. Britain's Daily Mail, always clever with their suggestiveness, remark that Hough "was grinning from ear to ear as he carried out his pet Yorkshire terrier."

Cheryl Cole, who shot to fame thanks to her involvement in British pop group Girls Aloud and on the 'The X Factor,' became close with Hough after they danced together on a British Christmas special. Hough later went on to star in a music video for the song 'Parachutes.'

Cheryl's soon-to-be-ex-husband, who plays left-back for Chelsea in England's Premier League, has reportedly admitted a sexual affair with one woman who he was exchanging text messages with. At least five others have come forward claiming they also had flings with the footballer. He's currently under investigation and faces a possible suspension or fine for attempting to have his Chelsea team cover up his scandal.

It's reported that Ashley may be hit with a fine up to $500,000 for smuggling girls into his hotel rooms for pre-game romps while his team was on the road. One such woman, political aide Ann Corbitt, is now a the center of Ashley's scandal, as texts and e-mails between the two have leaked to the press.

I can tell from the photos above which one is Cheryl. It would be nice though since I do not know any of these other people whose photo is of which other person since no where does it indicate that in the entire article. Is Ashley the Tiger Woods look a like - or is he the other guy in this story ??

I don't think many Americans care who Cheryl Cole is - well, maybe by summer they will. It's hard enough for any British performer to get a Billboard 100 hit these days, unless you're someone like Leona Lewis or any of Coldplay. But maybe if CC does take up with someone famous, things will be different.

First off, John Mayer is a Tool! They should make a "Tool Academy - Celebrity/Star Relationship Wreck's, Now secondly, Derek Hough is promoting a one-man campaign to rid the rumor mill's that all male dancer's are gay. To quote every bad song from the 1970's on up to present day, Derek's just "A squirrel, tryin' to find a nut!". Looks like he's finding all SORTS of nuts. Derek? Whatever makes you the happiest. Good luck.. Just remember one other bad quote, "No Glove, No Love", or "Wrap It or Whack It"

Here's hoping the folks in the Enland showed a whole lot more maturity towards that couple than the immature perverts in this country. For only in America could grown folks be reduced to immature teenagers at the mention of sex and women.

Personally I don't really care to categorize anybody into any type of group or preference. If Derek is gay that is his business. I've only been around him once, at the AMA's. He was very nice. No matter what his preference he is still a cutie!! As far as we know, this woman and Derek are only friends!! I'm married and now that I think about it, most of my friends are guys. Same with both of my daughters.

I'd still like Derek to meet my youngest daughter. I didn't say they had to get married or anything like that... Friends are fine

Actually, Derek recently coreographed a few of Cheryl's performances. It is entirely possible that he is being a good friend while she is going through a rough time.
