Simon Says: No Marriage Without Pre-Nup

Simon Cowell has proven to be many things, but foolish has never really been one of them. So it should be no surprise that as things get more serious with his new girlfriend, Simon won't even consider walking down the aisle unless there's a pre-nup in place. Way to protect your hundreds of millions, Simon! Details on that, plus scoop on J-Lo's expensive habits after the jump!

Simon Cowell: Pre-Nup Before Marriage

Simon Cowell is a new man now that girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy is in his life. Even the music mogul's 84 year-old-mother said, "There's such a glow about him. I think he would make a wonderful husband."

However one thing that hasn't changed about the 'Idol' judge is his ability to tell it exactly as it is.

"Simon has made it clear to Mezhgan that he will not be walking down the aisle unless a pre-nup has been signed," a friend of Simon's tells me. "He is in love, he hasn't lost his mind."

Call me stupid or old-fashioned, but I still believe in marriage forever ... even if Mr. Cowell is estimated to be worth over $175 million.

J-Lo's Hair Expenses Cost Her A Record Deal

Most industry types are gossiping that the disastrous debut of Jennifer Lopez's first single 'Louboutins' off her new album was because of the label's decision not to release the album and not to renew her contract. However, my source tells me the real reason the label chose to end its long-term deal with J-Lo had nothing to do with music, but rather the amount of their money she was spending on her hair, of all things!

"Jennifer spends the label's money like it's 12 years ago, when she was selling huge amounts of CDs," a record executive told me. "The label was picking up the cost of private plane, video shoot, 5-star hotels. But the straw that broke the camel's back was the $10,000 it would cost her a day for her hair and makeup."

I have to say, La Lopez does always look flawless -- even in a that ridiculous sheer cat suit she performed in on New Year's Eve, but surely no hairdo is worth $10K. And for sure, no hairdo is worth a record contract!

A spokesperson for J-Lo told me this was "not true at all. She has a new label." Let's hope the new label has its own hair and makeup team on staff, too.

North Carolina Gets a Taste Of Manhattan

Congratulations to nightclub kings Scott Sartiano on the opening of his hot club Butter in North Carolina, his first venue outside of NYC.

Friends Nicky Hilton and Fergie from The Black Eye Peas helped Scott, who is originally from the great state of North Carolina, celebrate the over the weekend.

Some fools in New York can't seem to think outside of Manhattan, but N.C. local boy Scott and his partner Richie Akiva know better.

I disagree. Simon IS a hunk and he has had plenty of women to choose from. If he's really serious about getting married - this is a first. I'm sure any pre-nup he has drawn up will still have a generous settlement should the marriage fail. After all he did buy his last ex-girlfriend a house worth a few million.

That's the problem with some women in this country. Youi think it's right for some woman, who was not around when he nade his fortune, to actually get half if the marriage is short and end in divorce. Other than being with your husband when he builds his fortune, staying married for more than a few years and pop a few kids, NO WOMAN IS ENTITLED TO HALF ON ANY MAN'S FORTUNE...especially for doing nothing.

She needs to sign the pre-nup. With the fame and fortune Simon's got, he doesn't have to settle.

Simon and his make-up girl are turning into an older version of Spencer and Heidi, with the amount of publicity they've been seeking for this "relationship". All I can say is, if it's for real, the old man had better hang on to his wallet!

So many people are sue-happy these days that I don't blame Simon for getting a pre-nup. You want to protect what you worked for. If and when the marriage fails, I'm sure she won't be left empty handed.

Trust is all fine and dandy, but lets say you have something you came into the marriage with...like a collection worth 1 billion that you spent your entire life putting together, you even added to it after you got married. Without the pre-nup for the possibility. Half or all of that collection -could- potentially be lost, or worse if the judge feels there is enough arguing over it, he could force you to sell it and split the money half and half. The moment you get married -anything- you buy is half your spouses unless otherwise stated.

Simon is no hunk? The man is gorgeous!!! Yes Simon..definitely have a pre nup. If she truly loves you then she won't have an issue signing it.She is hardly going to live in poverty as his wife. Why shouldn't he protect his money. He earned it.

this guy thinks he's God's gift to the world. he is arrogant, doesn't like a good percent of the contestants. the way he talks down the performance is disgusting. he should quit the show and spend his time looking for personality, he really doesn't have a glimmer of one now.

Simon Cowell is indeed a very shrewd man. A pre-nup is essential as he is a target for any divorce lawyer to get rich from. Hope it all works out for him.
