Topless Lady Gaga Gives the People What They Want

'Bad Romance' singer Lady Gaga proves her femininity with a topless cover photo in British magazine Q, obscuring her breasts with just a gloved hand -- but she also pokes fun at some prevalent rumors by sporting an unmistakable (and clearly fake) bulge in her pants.

"We all know that one of the biggest talking points of the year was that I have a d**k, so why not give them what they want?" she told the magazine (via MTV).

Raciness of the cover photo aside, Gaga insists that an unconventional image matters deeply to her. "The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself," she said.

"My image was an issue at my record label. I fought for months and cried at meetings. I got criticized for being arrogant because if you're sure of yourself as a woman they say you're a bitch whereas if you're a man and you're strong-willed, it's normal."

It's this attitude, she believes, that fuels those hermaphrodite rumors. "If a guy says, 'Oh, I f****d all these chicks this week,' there's a high-five and giggling. But when a woman does that and it's publicized or she is open about her sexuality or she's free or liberated, it's, 'Oh, well, she must have a d**k.'"

She added, "I also carry myself onstage in a masculine way and sing in a low register."

The singer doesn't shun tradition entirely. She explained, "Well, I believe in certain institutions: cooking, serving dinner, taking care of my family."

"I consider myself quite the lady," she said.
