The parents of missing 'Growing Pains' actor Andrew Koenig were scheduled to appear on 'Larry King Live' last night, but the couple left the studio before recording their segment of the show, E! reports. Breaking news ate into the Koenigs' allotted time -- and when King introduced the couple toward the end of the show, he found them missing.
"For some reason unbeknownst to anyone, Walter Koenig, the father of the missing Andrew Koenig, and [Andrew's mother] Judy Levin-Koenig... left the studio in Vancouver," King said during the broadcast.
"We checked them out, they were prepared to go on, I said 'hello,' they said 'hello,'" he continued. "We said we'd be on in two minutes, they said 'fine.' And they got up and left, for reasons unknown."
A 'Larry King Live' staffer told RadarOnline.com, "What I know is exactly what you saw and heard on our show."
Andrew's father is Walter Koenig, who played Chekov in the 'Star Trek' TV series and films. The elder Koenig and his wife issued a statement yesterday: "I just want to know you're OK," Walter said directly to his son. "If it means you just want to stay here, that's OK. You don't have to come back. Just let us know that's your intention."
Koenig's sister Danielle also made a visit to 'Larry King Live,' but taped her segment as scheduled on Tuesday. "It's just very upsetting," she said. "My brother does suffer from depression, so we're very, very worried about him, and we just want to find him."
Andrew's most recent role was 2008's 'InAlienable,' written and directed by his dad. For four years, Koenig played Mike Seaver's affable best friend Richard "Boner" Stabone on 'Growing Pains.' He was written off the show in 1989 when "Boner" signed up for the Marine Corps. Watch a clip from that episode:
Anyone with knowledge of Koenig's whereabouts is being asked to contact Det. Raymond Payette of the Vancouver PD at 604-717-2534.
If the young man going missing were not so sad for hte family and friends, this would almost be funny. It is high time that CNN and Larry King got treated as they are due.
Robert...judging by your post, you must know what "lowlife trash." Just who are you to judge anyone??? Is your life so perfect that you have that ability. It isyour type that we need to hear less from and about.
I have a very good reason why they left without doing the interview. Someone whispered in the Ol'Mans ear and told him that only about 3 dozen people watch Larry King's Show ??
I personally enjoy Larry's show, but I get a very strong feeling that he is drunk most of the time he is on air. He sounds drunk, he looks drunk, so I wonder if he has a drinking problem we are supposed to ignore.
Who cares about this whiner or as his character's name was "Boner?" No one to blame but himself for not making anything of himself over the last 21 year's. That show was one of the most assinine show's, next to Cosby and Mr. Bellveder, in the history of tv.
I feel bad for any family who has gone through or is going through this type of ordeal where a family member is missing. But,for those of us who grew up watching Growing pains,I used to love Andrew Koenig's Character "Boner".He portrayed that cute, innocent, funny best friend to Kirk Cameron's character, "Mike".Who knows what he was or is like in real life other than now learning that he has issues with Depression. This is why people care so much about famous or semi famous people who are missing or pass away.Especially when they have been apart of your childhood, watching them on TV.
Oh, leave Larry King alone, he’s an excellent narrator and he’s made a name for himself as the homeliest TV host on the air bagging one hot wife after another. It’s sort of like watching Jerry Springer where the guest is a fat, toothless homeboy being chased by 6 white ho’s and 3 of their mothers. As for the guy who went missing, he'll turn up dead or alive. Sad but true.
This guy moved all of his stuff out of his Venice Beach residence before he went "missing". He wants to be gone. He left, he's not missing! There are hundreds of others that go missing each week that don't make the news and they don't go "missing" by choice. Let the family track this guy down...we don't need America worrying about this adult who left on his own and on purpose. What about missing children or elderly? This guy suffered from depression; not alzheimers (however you spell that).

It's actually amazing that Larry King even knew that they were missing since he asks questions and never listens to the answer.

Most people who suffer with mental illness are not to blame for their illness. You're not a very empathic person, are you?
