'The Deadliest Catch' star Jake Harris wasn't drinking when he was busted for a DUI, according to his lawyer."He didn't have a sip of alcohol," his lawyer Ed Ritter told PEOPLE, ruling out drug use as well.
Ritter explained the sensational arrest stemmed from "an anonymous caller who alleged (Harris) was driving erratically." The lawyer insisted "there's no evidence of that."
Harris' traffic arrest came on the heels of the tragic news that his father, Capt. Phil Harris, had died from complications of a stroke on Feb. 9. The unexpected death brought national mourning over the larger-than-life fishing captain from the reality television series.

Leave the man alone, he's mourning. Police and media.

Leave him alone? I understand the loss of a father/bestfriend and the mourning process that goes along with it. But to risk driving a car while drunk you are putting others at risk of having to go through the same pain when you kill someone that they love. Drinking and getting behind the wheel should NEVER EVER be acceptable no matter what. Jake will probably get his hand slapped for this, hopefully he won't do it again.
His lawyer is doing his job of spinning crap. It's what he's paid to do. I don't care for the drunk driving, which puts another family at risk of mourning a loved one.

If you watched the show at all, you saw a kid who has grown up in the shadow of a truly honest and hard working man.I think he has done a good job with a few setbacks like any kid his age. So what if some hater wants to make things worse for him in this very emotional time for him. Leave him alone or be helpful and lend him a hand.Wouldn't you want the same if your Dad died?

Sure I'll lend him a hand...........hey Jake when you decide to drink and get behind the wheel give me a call I'll take you where you want to go so you don't kill someone. My sympathies are with you in your loss but don't make another family go through what you're going through
Jake - hang in there. Keep your head straight.
I was 26 when I lost my dad to a motorcylce accident- he was 53.
One thing I know is that our Dads want us to use what they taught us to continue successfully in this world. They are watching over us and we need to make them proud.

Hope Jake sees your post..............
let me see if i remember correctly i told the judge the same thing after i got popped for drinking and driveing. and when i was in court i did notice that most people in the same boat as i was that day played the blame game. yep it is always someone elses fault. now everytime i see the officer that pulled me over i shake is hand and say thank you for what he did for me that night.

i got arreested for not passin a sobriety test.i was wearing high (5 in) heels in a gravel parking lot and was asked to walk a straight line.
in 6 hrs out i had 2 drinks of alcohol and 5 iced teas with splenda.i was dancing and also had some nachos and popcorn.
the police wouldnt let me take a breathalizer or blood test,so it was thrown out of court.
i had to get a lawyer and miss work,so i lost money and was inconvienced.but nobody cared and of course i couldnt sue.
i hate cops,expecially nj.

We can all judge people but until we are in their shoes who knows what is the right thing to do, I dont condone the drinking and driving but did he really drink and drive? can someone prove that? until you now all the details dont judge him especially in this time of loss. Hang in there Jake, stay close to your brother no matter what, hes all you got now and your dad would want that.
